That's a wrap up on the proceedings of this Melbourne Derby as the Stars edged out the Renegades by 4 runs. The WBBL for the day is over. But don't go too far away as we have the final league game of the World Cup starting shortly between India and Netherlands in Bengaluru. Stick around to our network for all other cricketing actions across the globe and across formats.

For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Deepak Prakash and Hitesh Peddurwar alongside scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS!
Annabel Sutherland (Player of the Match): "It's nice to be on the right side of the line. Across the ball, everyone did pretty well. It was pretty tricky while batting, it was tough to hit across the wind. I tried to mix up my change ups and keep to the stumps. Hopefully, take this one and get some momentum in the last one, and hopefully, some more contributions from the top order along with me. It's great to see youngsters doing the job."
11:17 AM IST, 4:47 PM Local Time: We have had a thriller of a game as the Melbourne Derby went down to the wire. It was a game that could have gone either way but in the end, the Stars held their nerves to win the game by 4 runs and gain bagging rights. Renegades will think of what might have been. But it was a great game of cricket.

Chasing 145 for the win, the Renegades lost their opener Emma for a golden duck. Tammy Beaumont looked good for her 33 off 31 balls. Harmanpreet Kaur looked the best of the lot as she scored 37 off 39 balls. Hayley Matthews batting down the order scored 32 off 32 balls. Georgia Wareham scored 11 while Courtney Webb scored 12. But it was a bridge too far. 9 extras given by the fielding side as the Renegades finish with 140/6 in 20 overs.

Annabel Sutherland was the pick of the bowlers for the Stars as she finishes with figures of 4/22 in 4 overs. A wicket apiece for Sophie Day and Kim Garth as they all kept it tight and held their nerves in the end. Some economical spells were seen as well. All in all, the Stars played a bit better than the Renegades.

Earlier in the day, the Stars were put into bat first by Renegades. Maia Bouchier scored 17 and was the first one to go. Meg Lanning was the star with the bat as the skipper led from the front. She carried her bat and was unbeaten on 67* off 49 balls. Alice Capsey scored 23 off 24 balls. Annabel Sutherland scored a good 24 off 16 balls. 8 extras given by the fielding side as the Stars ended with 144/5 in 20 overs.

Sarah Coyte picked up a couple of wickets for her side. A wicket apiece for Ella Hayward, Sara Kennedy, and Harmanpreet Kaur as well. The bowlers of Renegades did well, but the batters lost the plot at the last moment to lose the game in the end.

So, a win for Stars over the Renegades by 4 runs as they climb upwards in the points table.
