Player Bio

Courtney Webb, an extraordinary hitter of the cricket ball, plays for Melbourne Renegades and the Tasmania state. At 19, she was signed by the Women’s Big Bash club for a rare ability to split the ball into halves.

Born in Tasmania, Webb is a former U-19 cricketer for Australia who donned the national jersey on the tour of South Africa in 2018. She has also represented Carlton in the AFLW rookie draft. However, her true and real passion has always been cricket.

In the 2017–18 season, Webb made her WNCL debut for Tasmania, even before playing for Australia at the U-19 level. The following summer, she vice-captained the 50-over team in a tri-series against South Africa Emerging Women and the England Women's Academy.

Since then, the Tasmanian has been a regular fixture in her state team, before signing a WBBL contract with the Renegades for the fourth edition of the league.

In her maiden Big Bash season, Webb stunned everyone when she scored 21*, helping the Renegades narrowly defeat the Stars which was just the second one-wicket victory in the league's history.

The next year, the youngster pulled off a miraculous win over the Sixers when, with five required off the final delivery, she launched a Marizanne Kapp delivery for six. And Webb hasn’t dropped a beat since then.

In June 2021, Webb re-signed with the Renegades for another two seasons. Apart from being a terrific batter, she is also an equally brilliant leg-spinner who scalps wickets at crucial junctures.
