So, Pakistan have won their first-ever game against South Africa Women in their home. They lead the three-match series 1-0 at the moment and what a performance it has been from the Women in green.

This was me, Arijit Kundu with the ball-by-ball coverage alongside scorer/analyst, Zeeshan Naiyer. A great contest to witness for us as cricket fans and may we get some more. Stay tuned to the network for all things cricket.
Nida Dar (Pakistan Women): "I think so. The kind of wickets we had. It was a batting wicket. But still we believe that spinners bagged up wickets well.

I guess the confidence of the girls and the intent that they showed from the initial period [on the thought process]. I think this is the right direction to move forward. Definitely, we changed Muneeba as well. I think righty and leftie works well. Very happy and confident about my team."
Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa Women): "Yeah I think so. We started off well with the bat and we thought 150 would be enough.

I think we overall did not execute well. We could have scored a little more with the bat and after the drinks, we were not that tight. Tazmin batted really well there. I could've done better. Maybe go a bit faster there when she was scoring well."
Tazmin Brits (Player of the Match): "Not really to be honest. We were not sure how the pitch would behave. Yeah, it was one of our better powerplays. But I think we should push a bit more, Now that we know how the pitch plays, we should better.

I don’t think I am. There’s a lot of shots well but a lot has hit my body. There have been more dot balls that I have faced, so will have to work on these. And well done to Pakistan."

Time for the post-match presentations..
11:17 PM IST, 22:47 Local Time: A win to remember for ages for Pakistan. They chase down 151 runs target in a cliffhanger of a game. Aliya Riaz with the winning runs and she had tears in her eyes after this taste of victory. This is also Pakistan Women's highest successful chase in WT20I.

Superb scenes in Pakistan cricket as despite all the hiccups in the innings they pulled it back on the prowess of Riaz and Muneeba Ali during the slog overs.

Chasing down this target on a tricky surface never looked easy. Pakistan got brisk partnerships throughout the chase and these acted as the stepping stone in the chase. Sidra Ameen scored 33 runs at the top of the order followed by Bismah Maroof's 37 off 30 balls. It was the brilliance of Aliya Riaz who scored 28* off 26 balls to see Pakistan past the finishing line. Muneeba Ali had her part with 19 off 17 during the slog overs. There were four run-outs in the innings and despite this setback, the batting unit gelled as a group to overshadow South Africa's top order brilliance in the first innings.

Earlier, Pakistan won the coin toss, and Laura Wolvaardt and her girls were put to bat first. Openers- Tazmin Brits and Laura Wolvaardt scored 85 runs for the first wicket. The former set the tone with a few early boundaries, and the latter served as the sole anchorer. Contrary to her companion, who eventually scored 78 runs from 64 balls, Wolvaardt fell six runs shy of a half-century.

Marizanne Kapp and the rest of the middle order contributed their part to help South Africa post 150 runs after 20 overs. Nashra Sandhu was the best of their bowlers in the innings who challenged the batters on various occasions.

This was Laura Wolvaardt's first assignment as a captain and that too on the soil of Pakistan. There's a lot of learning for her as a leader and we shall get to see it in time. For now, Pakistan leads the WT20I series 1-0. Stay tuned for the presentations and players' minds.

1 In the air and that goes past the boundary ropes. length delivery outside the off stump and Riaz heaves it across the line towards square of deep mid wicket. The fielder from the deep charged in but the ball bounced off the surface and went over towards the ropes. Aliya Riaz has done it and celebrates it. All hugs and tears in the ey of Riaz. Pakistan wins the game and their first against South Africa on their home turf.
19.5 M Klaas to A Riaz
2 Back of a length and outside the off stump line. A slower one from Klaas. Riaz waited for it and elevated it over extra cover for a couple of runs. Riaz came down the track and nicely placed it in the gaps. One more needed for the win and the scores are level.
3 runs needed from the two balls. Its all happening here!!
19.4 M Klaas to A Riaz
2 In the air this time and the fielder at the deep does a great work to dive to her right and keep it to couple. Fuller one at the middle and leg. Riaz slogs across the line  with some wristy work but fails too clear the ropes.
19.3 M Klaas to F Sana
1 Full and outside the off stump. Sana pushes it towards the extra cover region for a single.
19.2 M Klaas to A Riaz
1 Full and outside the off stump. Riaz slices this towards the left of long off for a solo.
19.1 M Klaas to F Sana
