Player Bio

A young Pakistani seamer who has all kinds of variations in her arsenal, Fatima Sana Shaikh is a professional cricketer for Pakistan national team and is one of the fastest bowlers in the country.

Sana’s domestic T20 career kicked off with the 2013-14 PCB National Under-19 Women’s Championship. Playing for Hyderabad, she bowled 4 overs and conceded just 18 runs against Multan but didn’t get any wickets though.

Just a few months away from being an adult, Fatima made her debut in international cricket in the ODI series against South Africa on May 6th, 2019. The teenage sensation from Karachi bowled 3 overs and conceded 23 runs, and also picked up the crucial wicket of the Proteas skipper Lizelle Lee. She followed it up with her T20I debut in the same month on May 28th and went wicketless in a close contest.

Having represented Pakistan in just a handful of games, the Karachi-born all-rounder is yet to make her mark on the international stage. Just a teenager, Fatima bagged the Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year award by PCB in 2020.  The 19-year-old from Karachi is an exciting talent to look forward to and she can bowl with the new ball and is even known for her disciplined lines and lengths.
