Player Bio

Masabata Klaas is a class fast-bowler who has been representing South Africa since 2010. Apart from flourishing at cricket, Klass is also a single mom, which halted her career for four years in between.

Debuted in 2010, Klaas played her maiden ODI against Sri Lanka and made her T20I debut against the Netherlands, shortly after her ODI debut in the same month. The speedster was in and out of the national team for a year before going on maternity leave to raise her daughter.

Klaas made a comeback in 2015 during the limited-overs series against Pakistan and has cemented her spot since 2016. The pacer was an integral member of the Proteas in the World T20s of 2016, 2018, & 2020, also in the 2017 50-over World Cup.

Cricket South Africa awarded Klaas a national contract ahead of the 2018-19 season and the pacer has been a contractual cricketer since. A year later, she took a hat-trick against Pakistan during an ODI game to become only the second South African woman to achieve the feat.

Klaas is an extremely hardworking and talented fast-bowler for South Africa, who more often than not struggles to pick wickets. However, when the pacer is in full flow then she becomes unplayable.
