A convincing six-wicket victory for the Melbourne Stars over their arch-rivals Melbourne Renegades. The Renegades were always up against it after posting just 91. The bowlers did start the defense decently as the Stars opening duo of Jemimah Rodrigues and Lauren Winfield were back in the hut within the Powerplay. However, the promising duo of Alice Capsey and Annabel Sutherland steadied the ship with a mature 47-run partnership.
There was just a bit of stutter at the half-way mark as Capsey was caught and bowled by Sarah Coyte while Kim Garth was sent back for a five-ball duck by Hayley Matthews. The quick dismissals didn't bother the Stars as their skipper Nicole Faltum came in and gave good company to Sutherland as the duo saw the team past the line!
