Player Bio

Another up and coming cricketer for Australian cricketer, Georgia Prestwidge, is a seam bowler hails from Queensland and represents Brisbane Heat at Women’s Big Bash level. Apart from being a celebrated pacer, she is also considered one of the best fielders present in the country.

Born in Queensland, Prestwidge comes from a fine cricketing family. Her Dad is an ex-Queensland Bulls player, while her brother is also an active player. Her love for the game emerged at a young age itself, before playing for her state from age-group competitions.

The handy cricketer made her debut for the Queensland Fire in October 2014, by the end of the 2015–16 season, she was named the Queensland Fire Youth Player of the Year.

The following year, Prestwidge’s bowling action was reported and Cricket Australia announced it to be illegal, and that she had therefore been suspended from bowling with immediate effect. The pacer made a comeback, when she made her WBBL debut, with a remodelled action.

Since then, the young gun has shown plenty of promise for both Queensland Fire and Brisbane Heat and would be willing to see her wrapped in the Southern Stars’ outfit.
