Earlier in the day, Tallawahs didn’t get to a good start as they were restricted to 31 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in 6.2 overs. Both the openers and the number three batter didn’t touch the double-digit individual score on the occasion. Rovman Powell and Raymon Reifer took the charge of the batting in the middle and started batting sensibly. The duo built a partnership of 90 runs for the 4th wicket as Reifer departed scoring 28 runs off 26 balls, and was joined by Powell in the next over as he was cleaned bowled by the Narine and departed scoring 67 runs off 49 balls.
A
short cameo of 21 runs off 12 balls from Imad Wasim in the end and they were
able to score 153 runs on the occasion.
On the other hand, Ravi Rampaul picked up 3 wickets giving away 40 runs in his
4 overs quota. Sunil Narine picked up a couple of wickets, and Dupavillon and Lewis
got one wicket a piece.
Chasing 154 for victory, TKR got off to a poor start losing Narine for duck, Webster was run-out soon after for 5. They never looked like being in the chase or playing with positive intent. Munro played some fine shots but was dismissed at the wrong time for 29. Seifert, Pooran, and Russell got off to starts but did not capitalize. Pollard was too dismissed early for just 6.
The Tallawahs' bowling was superb and M Amir set the tone with 2 for 15 in his 4-over spell. I Wasim was good with 2 for 20 in his spell which included a maiden. M Pretorius, C Green, and J James got a wicket each to round off an excellent bowling performance by the Jamaica Tallawahs. They have restricted this strong TKR side to a paltry total of 119 for 8 and get their 3rd win of the season.
