Player Bio

Khary Pierre is another slow left-arm spinner who has emerged for the West Indies in recent years. He is a Trinidadian cricketer who has made his international debut for West Indies in 2018 and has been on the fringes of selection since then.

The Trinidadian announced himself when he made his first-class debut for Trinidad and Tobago in the 2016-17 Regional Four Day Competition, while he played his maiden List-A game during the Super50 Cup, later that season. He was also roped in by Trinbago Knight Riders for Caribbean Premier League 2017.

In his maiden CPL season, the southpaw got limited opportunities as he was a part of a star-studded line-up that included Brendon McCullum, Sunil Narine, Dwayne Bravo and who not. Pierre had his breakthrough performance in the following year’s CPL final, when the spinner picked up three crucial wickets, bagging the man of the match award.

Soon the left-hander was awarded his West Indies cap, as he played his maiden T20I against India in November 2018. On debut, he bowled a misery spell of 1 for 16, which included the wicket of Manish Pandey. The next month, he made his ODI debut against the same opposition at Visakhapatnam. Pierre remained in and out of the West Indies for the next two years, as he could not stamp an authority.

The Trinidadian has been with Trinbago Knight Riders since 2017 and has won three titles with the franchise. The left-armer is still raw but a talented spinner and also a quick fielder and a capable lower-order batsman.
