Sean Dickson (Player of the Match): "Thank you very much. I’m very delighted. We got into a brilliant position because of our bowlers.

To be honest, we didn’t speak much in the middle. We just went with the flow while batting. All credit to James for the way he batted."
Player of the Match: Sean Dickson
6:30 PM IST, 2 PM Local Time: An excellent comeback from the Somerset middle order led by Sean Dickson and James Rew helping them reach the grand finale in the T20 Blast.

Somerset captain Lewis Gregory won the toss and elected to bowl first. Dom Sibley started off well for Surrey top scoring with 48 in 36 balls but the Somerset bowlers fought back to restrict them down at 153/9.

Surrey started their defence well, Daniel Worrall striking on the first deliveries of his initial 2 overs and Tom Curran removing Tom Abell in his first to get the early momentum.

James Rew playing 2nd T20 game of his career joined Sean Dickson at the crease with the duo adding a record 144 runs for the 4th wicket. A Cam Steel over went for 18 runs which shifted the momentum towards Somerset once again.

Dickson moved to his 50 in 31 deliveries with the side moving to 100 in the 12th over. Tom Banton's replacement Rew rose to the occasion and moved to 50 when Somerset needed only 15 in 3 overs to get home.

Dickson was dismissed in the 19th over with only 3 runs needed to win and it was skipper Lewis Gregory who smashed a maximum off a no ball to seal the win for Somerset.
Somerset are into the final of the T20 Blast 2024. They keep their dream of defending the title alive.
