A 17-year old wicket-keeper batsman, James Rew is a professional English cricketer who played for Taunton St. Andrews in his early days and joined Somerset Academy at the age of 15 in 2019.
A calm and composed opening batsman for the Yorkshire second XI, Rew played for Somerset in both the U-15s and U-17s teams. Rew finally got the opportunity to play red-ball cricket at the senior level when he was named in the County XI’s side to take on India in a warm-up match. A month later, he made his List A debut for the senior side against Somerset on August 1st, 2021.
Part of the u-19 setup of England, Rew was named in the English squad for their limited-overs series against West Indies in August 2021. At just 17 years of age, Rew has shown that he can adapt to multiformat cricket and his wicket-keeping skills are improving game by game.
