1:20 AM IST, 8:50 PM Local Time: The Lancashire Lightning are off to a flier in the T20 Blast with a thumping nine-wicket victory against Durham in the season opener at Old Trafford, Manchester.

The bowlers set-up the win with an instrumental performance to bundle the visitors out for 75 halfway through the 15th over. Tom Aspinwall (4/18) on T20 debut was the pick of the bowlers with Jack Blatherwick recording career best figures of 3/14.

Luke Wells started off the chase in good fashion but his opening partner Josh Bohannon fell early scoring just 2 with Callum Parkinson taking a wicket off his very first ball. Wells teamed up with George Bell with the duo adding 61 unbeaten runs for the 2nd wicket.

Wells finished one short of his 4th T20 half century with Bell allowing his partner to play the aggressor finishing with 22 in 18 balls. Wells hit 6 fours and 3 maximums in his knock with 3 fours being scored off Bell's bat as well. Lancashire romped on to the win in 8 overs.
