Milestone
That's it from this game and the Qualifiers 2023. We come to an end of an amazing tournament that entertained us one and all. We thank you for being with us throughout. Do join us for more cricketing actions across the globe in our network across formats. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Deepak Prakash, and Harsh Shukla alongside scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and take care!
Dasun Shanaka now collects the trophy and now the celebrations begin in the Lankan camp and rightly so. They have remained unbeaten and are the best team in the qualifiers. In a heart-warming gesture, Netherlands are also called to join them for the photographs.
Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka Captain): "Prior to this tournament we played against Afghanistan. Each player played that tournament to get their rhythm and they have shown it here in this tournament. The only concern was injuries. Lahiru and Chamira got injured initial start of the tournament apart from this there was nothing we were worried about. We met many former players before coming here to play in the tournament. We met Mahela and many others, all were quite positive about winning the tournament, our management has been very helpful to us whole throughout the tournament. Lastly, I would like to thank Zimbabwe management for hosting this tournament and thanks to all our supporters for coming all the way from across the world to support us."
Scott Edwards (Netherlands Captain):"Yes, obviously a high intense tournament. Extremely proud of the boys. They have played good cricket but not today. We were in there to win. The bowlers bowled well. The score was gettable, but we did not play their spinners properly. The way guys got together and the culture and stepped up today. We are going to India and that's what matters. I think the West Indies game was the turning point and that was the blueprint for getting the chase of 278 in 44 overs. It's massive for us and the Dutch are looking forward to it. We are looking forward to playing the 10-team tournament in India. Thank You very much."
Sean Williams is awarded the Player of the Tournament.
Dilshan Madushanka (Player of the Match): "I am very happy to be a player of the match in the Final. I bowled at my basics and my role is to take wickets with the new ball and I am doing that. The wickets were suitable for batters here, but we need to do well whatever the conditions as a bowler. I learned a lot from Kasun Rajitha. He is like a mentor to me."
7:00 PM IST, 3:30 PM Local Time: Time for the presentation ceremony.
Chris Silverwood (Sri Lanka Head coach): "Yeah, our first goal was to qualify, and then prepare and train for India. We did well and ticked off all the boxes. There was pressure coming into this tournament, the expectation from people back home was to qualify for the world cups and I think we can go home happy.

From an individual perspective and as a collective team, we successfully formulated our game plan and effectively generated momentum following the Afghan series. The confidence we gained during that series will now be carried forward into the World Cup.

This is not only significant mentally, as everyone requires downtime, but also physically, as the players must ensure they begin the tournament in a refreshed state. We have 3 young bowlers with immense potential. Very pleased with the spin bowling department, I think everyone knows how strong we are there."

Wanindu Hasaranga: "Yeah, we had a series against Afghanistan before coming here and our bowlers bowled well in that series and carried the momentum here as well. We tried to bowl at the stump line and that helped us. As a team, personally, we take this momentum into main even in India, bowlers have played a lot of games in India and we know how the wicket behaves there, this qualifier has helped us."
6:41 PM IST, 3:11 PM Local Time: What we have seen today has been a thoroughly professional performance from Sri Lanka as they have outplayed Netherlands in all facets of the game to win it by 128 runs and be crowned winners of the ICC World Cup Qualifiers 2023. Netherlands were never in it in the chase and they would like to forget this game. Both teams qualify for the ICC World Cup 2023 in India.

Chasing what seemed a gettable 234 for the win, the Dutch kept on losing wickets at regular intervals losing 5 wickets in the powerplay. Vikramjit Singh scored 13 and was the first one to go. Max O'Dowd held the innings together with his 33 off 63 balls but the others fell away. Logan van Beek remained unbeaten on 20* off 24 balls but it was a bridge too far as the Dutch were bowled out for 105 in 23.3 overs. 14 extras were given by the fielding side.

From Sri Lanka's point of view, Dilshan Madushanka started things off with figures of 3/18 in 7 overs. He started it off by taking early wickets. Maheesh Theekshana was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4/31 in 6.3 overs and took the last wicket. Wanindu Hasaranga picked up a couple of wickets in his 7 overs and gave away just 35 runs.

Earlier in the game, Sri Lankan players got off to starts but nobody really carried on. Nissanka scored 23 while Sadeera scored 19. Kusal Mendis scored a good 43 off 52 balls. Arachchige looked good as he got his debut fifty. He scored 57 off 71 balls. Charith Asalanka scored 36 off 36 before being run out. Wanindu Hasaranga chipped in with 29 off 21 balls. Maheesh Theekshana scored 13 off 30 balls. But the Lankans lost their way and were restricted to 233 in 47.5 overs. Just 4 extras given by the fielding side.

The wickets were shared by the Dutch. A couple of wickets apiece for Logan van Beek, Ryan Klein, Vikramjit Singh, and Zulfiqar while Aryan Dutt picked up a wicket as well. All in all, they did well but their batters faltered.

So, a win by Sri Lanka by 128 runs as they win their 10th ODI in a row. Stick around for the presentation ceremony.

23.3 M Theekshana to C Floyd
W And it's all as Theekshana gets his fourth of the evening. Floyd gets out and hence Lankans win the match by 128 runs. Googly on the length middle and off. Floyd looking to defend it on the front foot gets plumbed up in front of the stump. Theekshana changed the game straightaway in a few of his last overs by taking 4 wickets at the end of the game.
23.2 M Theekshana to C Floyd
4 FOUR!!!!!!!!! Tossed up delivery on the leg. Floyd on the front foot simply flicks it past the leg slip and gets the boundary. Poor bowling by Theekshana, bowls it full and bowls wide on the leg. Floyd simply gets the thin edge of the willow as he gets the boundary.
23.1 M Theekshana to Beek
1 Flighted delivery on the leg. Beeks flicks it through short fine-leg for a single.
