Player Bio

If Chaminda Vaas vouches for someone's talent then that cricketer should be one to look out for. Dilshan Madushanka is a left-arm fast bowler who is coming through the ranks from Sri Lanka. The greatest left-armer from the Island nation has witnessed the development of the emerging bowler in close quarters.

Madushanka is another product of the Colts Cricket Club who showcased his dedication and commitment at the school level before getting selected for the U19 World Cup in 2020. He starred with a five-wicket haul in the Plate Quarter-final and finished the World Cup as Sri Lanka’s highest wicket-taker with 13 scalps.

Later that year, the pacer featured in a List-A game against West Indies where he got huge wickets in Kieron Pollard, Jason Holder, and Brandon King. Then, he played a couple of four-day games for Colts and got his maiden five-wicket haul in First-Class cricket. After the young pacer’s heroics in the junior World Cup soon followed, a Lanka Premier League (LPL) contract by the Dambulla Viiking for the inaugural season of the league, but could only manage to play a single fixture in the T20 tournament.

In 2020, the Sri Lankan head coach, Mickey Arthur included the highly-rated bowler for the training camp ahead of the team's Test tour of South Africa and later toured with the national side for the two-Test series.

Madushanka is still learning the art of fast-bowling but possesses raw pace and the ability to regularly clock at 140s. If the Sri Lankan board works closely with the youngster, then Madushanka could be a great addition for them in these hard transition times.
