09:40 PM IST: That's it. A comprehensive victory for Leicestershire as they beat Durham by seven wickets. A brilliant partnership between Colin Ackermann and Louis Kimber help them grab their first win of the Vitality T20 Blast 2023. Durham, on the other hand, lose their second game of the competition and will be disappointed with their performance today.

Chasing 169, Leicestershire got off to a fantastic start, thanks to their openers Nick Welch and Lewis Hill. Both played some magnificent strokes up front and took on the bowling from the word go. Welch scored 30 off 16 balls before getting cleaned up in the last over of the powerplay. He helped his side get off to a flying start. Hill looked good for his 25 but departed soon. Rishi Patel struggled for timing today and he was dismissed on a 21-ball 16 in the 12th over.

With 77 still required to win, Louis Kimber joined his skipper Colin Ackermann and started building the partnership. Both looked solid at the crease and pounced on anything loose. They kept the required run rate under control and made sure that they scored at a brisk rate. Kimber stepped on the accelerator and hit boundaries for fun. He brought up his fifty in the 18th over and finished things in style. Kimber (55* off 28 balls) and Ackermann (33* off 22 balls) put an unbeaten 77-run stand between them as they took their side across the line with two overs to spare. Thomas Luke Robinson of Durham picked up two wickets on his debut but it wasn't enough as they lost the fixture by seven wickets.

Earlier in the day, Durham were asked to bat first and they got off to a shaky start. They lost both the openers inside the powerplay and Michael Alexander Jones also fell after a scratchy 21. Oliver George Robinson along with Ashton Turner led the recovery work. Both played some very good shots and shifted the momentum towards them.

Turner departed on a 25-ball 46 in the 18th over which ended the 80-run stand for the fourth wicket. Robinson brought up his fifty and remained unbeaten on 69 to take his side to 168 at the end of their 20 overs. Josh Hull was the pick of the bowlers for Leicestershire as he finished with figures of 3/35 in his four overs. Naveen-ul-Haq also grabbed two wickets. Their batters then backed up their bowlers and chased down the total comfortably to grab their first win of the competition.
