1:46 AM IST | Deepak: The Hain-storm in Leicester has helped the Birmingham Bears register two wins in two games.  Warwickshire thumped Leicestershire by 5 wickets with 15 balls to spare.

Earlier, Leicestershire opted to bat first and posted 166 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Nick Welch’s solid opening cameo provided the base for the middle-order batters to cross the 165-run mark. However, they encountered a slight setback in the middle overs, which hampered their scoring rate. Nonetheless, the team managed to accumulate a total of 166 runs for the loss of 7 wickets within the stipulated 20 overs.

Warwickshire's Danny Briggs emerged as a standout performer with the ball, displaying excellent skills and control. His remarkable spell included claiming three crucial wickets while conceding a mere 15 runs in his four overs. Briggs' exceptional performance played a pivotal role in restricting the Foxes' scoring and preventing them from surpassing the 170-run mark.

Chasing the target of 166 set by the Foxes, the Birmingham Bears had a shaky start as they lost early wickets in the form of Paul Stirling and Alex Davies. However, the duo of Sam Hain and Glenn Maxwell showed great resilience and determination as they took charge of the innings. Hain and Maxwell unleashed an onslaught on the opposition bowlers, displaying a fearless brand of cricket and keeping the run rate in check.

Their partnership blossomed into a formidable force, as they stitched together a crucial 90-run stand for the third wicket. Maxwell played a pivotal role, showcasing his power-hitting skills and scoring 47 runs before being dismissed. The Bears faced a minor setback after Maxwell's departure, as they experienced a mini-collapse.

But it was Sam Hain (65*) who stood tall amidst the fall of wickets. Hain's unwavering focus and skillful stroke play guided the Bears towards victory. With Hain's heroics, the Birmingham Bears successfully crossed the victory line with 15 balls to spare.

From the bowling front, Callum Parkinson bagged 4 wickets for Leicestershire, while Will Davis contributed one wicket.
