Milestone
What a thriller of a contest it was. Grace Harris completely brushes aside the fifer of Kim Garth. So here is your answer. T20 is definitely a batter's game. For now, I am AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Megh Mandaliya, who alongside our scorer/analyst Paras Yadav brought you all the live-action of this entertaining encounter. We will meet in the next game. Until then, it's cheers!
Grace Harris: "I got off to a bad start. To know how to play, you must first obtain the necessary conditions. I was relieved that Sophie was moving quickly. It felt great to finish the game. I knew exactly what I wanted to do. When there were so many breaks with the DRS at the end, I was getting antsy. I was just excited to get out there and swing a bat. I've done a lot of training. I enjoy batting with some freedom. Healy, the coach, backs any decision. She has a strong strike (Sophie). There was some confusion near the end when the umpire walked over to say the DRS had failed. It was quite enjoyable. I'm not sure where I'll get some burgers in India. Perhaps some butter chicken, haha."
Player of the Match: Grace Harris
Alyssa Healy (UP Warriorz Women Captain): "Grace and, in particular, our lower-order deserve full credit. Grace, Grace, Grace. That's the only way to put it. She has the ability to hit the ball as hard as she did. Kiran was incredible. We were going to send her in for a whack if we lost an early wicket. She was fantastic tonight. You know what you're going to get when you throw the ball to them (Sophie and Deepti). That is something we will celebrate. It was quite unique."
Powerful Striker of the Match: Grace Harris
11:10 PM IST | Time for post-match presentations...
Sophie Ecclestone: "I think Harris was unbelievable today. She knew what she wanted to do from the moment she went in. Alyssa Healy is great to the squad. It's quite scary (On bowling to Laura Harris, sister of Grace Harris). Probably will get some tips from Grace on that. The team has been amazing. Great group and I love it."
Sneh Rana (Gujarat Giants Women Captain): "Yes, disappointed with the loss again but I am really proud of how they fought today. I enjoyed my leadership. Unfortunately, we couldn't win today. Whenever my team needs me, I will do my best. The girls put up a good fight today. The dew played a major role today. It was difficult to grip the ball but that's how it is."
10:55 PM IST | Grace Harris has set the Women's Premier League (WPL) on a fire! WPL is certainly underway with an unbelievable heist. Take a bow for pulling the rabbit out of the hat, take a bow, madam! This loss is a hard pill to swallow for Gujarat Giants. Kim Garth's 4-0-36-5 goes in vain as Harris wins it for UP Warriorz!

Chasing a target of 170, UP Warriorz were down and drown when Kim Garth breathed fire, reducing the Alyssa Healy-led side to 3/20 inside three overs. But Kiran Prabhu Navgire and Deepti Sharma showed the way for a Warriorz' fight back with a 66 runs partnership for the 4th wicket. In the process, Navgire (53 off 43) amassed a swashbuckling fifty. Mansi Joshi broke this stand with the wicket of Deepti in the 12th over. In the next over, Garth came back in the attack and dismantled Navgire and Simran Shaikh to pull down the hopes of UP Warriorz, reducing them to 88/6 in the 13th over.

When everything looked like done and dusted Grace Harris came out of the blue and smoked the Gujarat bowlers to all parts of the ground, taking the team home with a ball left. She smashed 59 in just 26 balls and added 70 runs for the unbeaten 8th wicket alongside Sophie Ecclestone (22* off 12) in just 28 deliveries.

Earlier in the evening, Gujarat Giants won the toss and opted to bat first. Sabbhineni Meghana and Sophia Dunkley provided the team with a decent start of 34 runs. Once Deepti Sharma cleaned up Dunkley in the fourth over, a few wickets fell quickly and soon the Giants were reduced to 76/4 in the 11th over.

Harleen Deol and Ashleigh Gardner added 44 runs for the fifth wicket and helped the side to get back on the track. Though Deepti picked the wicket of Gardner (25 off 19) in the 16th over, Gujarat didn’t panic. Harleen played a nice knock of 46 runs from 32 balls before being dismissed in the 18th over by Anjali Sarvani. Before getting out Harleen added 22 runs for the 6th wicket alongside Dayalan Hemalatha. Sneh Rana (9* off 7) and Hemalatha (21* off 13) played handy cameos at the end to take the side’s total close to 170 (169/6).

For the Warriorz, Deepti and Ecclestone grabbed a couple of wickets, while Tahlia McGrath and Anjali Sarvani got a wicket each.

So a win by 3 wickets, a nail-biter from Dr. D.Y. Patil Sports Academy to end the night on a high for the Women from UP.

We will be back with the presentations!
19.5 A Sutherland to G Harris
6 SIXXXX! What a thrilling chase this was from UP Warriorz and they have started their WPL with a victory over Giants. Absolutely unbelievable scenes here and Harris runs to Ecclestone in delight. A low-full toss on the leg peg, Harris was to pick that up and launch that over the deep square leg region as the ball sails into the stands for a maximum. Truly a rollercoaster of a match this and eventually, it was Grace Harris, who held her nerves to get UP over the line.
Mansi Joshi is the culprit. She has allowed the ball to go through her hands and that is a four. Grace Harris with a match winning fifty.
19.4 A Sutherland to G Harris
4 FOURR! Sloppy from Giants and that will surely do it for the Warriorz. She is elated here and the right-hander also completes her half-century. Good length and angled into the middle, Harris makes room and plays it inside out towards deep extra covers where Joshi misfields and lets it go to the boundary ropes. Just 1 required now.
Meanwhile, Healy asks Harris to calm down and the latter gives a thumps up.
A precious dot ball here. Sutherland does well to hold her line just inside the tramline. Grace Harris reviews this one for a wide. Replays come in and show that it is touch and go. What is the final verdict? Ultra edge comes in and shows no bat involved. Wide signaled! What a game we are having. This could change things. 5 from 3 balls now.
19.4 A Sutherland to G Harris
WD Dots are gold dust at the moment. Pitched up and well outside off, Harris takes a little shuffle across and looks to slash it away but misses it to the keeper. They have reviewed for a wide and it is an extra. That was very tight.
Harris is putting something special here. Only 6 needed now in 3 balls.
19.3 A Sutherland to G Harris
4 FOURR! Harris is unstoppable at the moment. Fuller length delivery and in the middle, Harris goes through the line of the ball and lifts that over the bowler's head for a boundary. She pierced the gap between long-on and long-off with perfection.
10 runs more from 4 balls now. Harris has done it before. She is not under pressure. It's Annabel Sutherland, who is under pressure.
