That's it from our coverage of match number 19 of the Abu Dhabi T10 League as the Bangla Tigers get home by 12 runs against Delhi Bulls registering their first win of the tournament. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more action from across the globe.
Iftikhar Ahmed is the player of the match.
Jordan Cox: "I was just trying to see where the ball was going and how far it was going from me. It was quite special to take that catch. To come back here and play is really good. Its tough to chase a big total. It gets to a stage when you need 2 sixes and a boundary in an over to keep ticking and its a challenge. They scored 18 boundaries today and that was in our mind instead of scoring 16-17 in an over. Unfortunately we didn't score 18 boundaries which was needed. 2 more big games we need to win, hopefully we get the results our way and go through the playoffs."
The Bangla Tigers finally win a game and stay in the hunt of playoffs after winning this encounter by 12 runs. After a terrific first innings knock of 83 not out from Iftikhar Ahmed which helped the Bangla Tigers to put a mammoth 133/2 in their 10 overs, a good bowling effort which helped choke runs defended the target as the Tigers got home in a must win fixture by 12 runs.
Bulls skipper Dwayne Bravo won the toss and decided to bowl first the decision being proved wrong by a completely dominating innings from Iftikhar. Indian legend Harbhajan Singh playing in his first ever game in the format was the pick of the bowlers conceding just 19 runs including one four and a six off Iftikhar in his 2 overs.
The Bulls openers didn't get off to a flier and were both back in the hut in the first 4 overs courtesy Rohan Mustafa and Umair Ali. Number 3 Jordan Cox (34 off 21) and star of the second innings Tim David (50* off 20) kept the partnership alive but the required run rate kept going out of reach owing to some good bowling changes from Shakib Al Hasan.
Luke Fletcher chipped in with the 3rd wicket but was expensive. Shakib bowled a tidy over conceding just 8 runs with Mohammad Amir and Benny Howell bowling tidy wicketless spells. Rohan Mustafa bowled a single over conceding nine and picked up Tom Banton.
6 SIX!! Four sixes in a row!! Good length ball on the off and David pulls it over the deep mid-wicket and dispatched it into the stands for a maximum. The Bangla Tigers thumped the Delhi Bulls by 12 runs.
9.5 L Fletcher to T David
6 SIX MORE!! Good length ball on the off and David plants his legs and pulls it over the mid-wicket for a hat trick of sixes.
9.4 L Fletcher to T David
6 SIX MORE!! Fuller ball on the middle and leg and David bends forward and lofts it over the long-on for a maximum.
