Player Bio

At 6ft 6 inches, Luke Fletcher is an intimidating fast bowler who loves to hit the deck hard to generate extra bounce off the surface. A right-arm medium-pace bowler, Fletcher plays for Nottinghamshire and made his first-class debut back in 2008.

He started playing for Nottinghamshire's second XI in 2007, and a year later was moved to the senior team. It was in the 2009 domestic season where the Nottingham-based cricketer was at his absolute best, scalping 29 wickets at an average of just over 27.

In just his fourth game in the County Championship, Fletcher proved his mettle as a handy lower-order batsman with a fluent 92 against Hampshire at Rose Bowl.

The 2011 Domestic season was his most fruitful till date, picking up 73 wickets across all forms of the game and becoming a household name in Nottingham.

Fletcher had few dry spells in the 2014 and 2015 season, and he even went to Derbyshire and Surrey on loan to get some game time under his belt.

The Nottingham-born was involved in a horrific incident against Birmingham Bears in a Natwest T20 Blast game in 2017, when a ferocious straight drive from Sam Hain struck Fletcher on the head, in his follow-through. He suffered internal bleeding and was out for the rest of the season.

Arguably the most popular figures in the county circuit, Fletcher has been a key player for his domestic side. A gangling fast bowler, Fletcher with his busty action has helped Nottinghamshire to so many memorable victories.
