That is it from the first T10 match of the evening. I am AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ninaad Dixit and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav, bringing you all the live-action of this mouth-watering fixture. Join us for the next match of this fastest format in cricket. For now, it is a good night!
Nicholas Pooran (Player of the Match): "Yeah, first of all, thanks for the award. It was really pleasing to perform for the team. It was the icing on the cake. Yeah, in the dressing room, we spoke about the runs we needed to score. It was a fresh wicket and was a bit tacky as well. It was difficult to time the ball. But I am happy for myself as I hit them well from the middle. Our dressing room knows how to win the championships, and overall, we are in a good space."
Power Hitter of the Match award goes to Adam Lyth
Magic Moment of the Match award goes to David Wiese
Odean Smith: "I won't say that. But any wicket in T10 is a game-changer. If you get anyone out then it is a great achievement. If they had stayed around, it would have been a different result. Experienced players like Pooran and Russell help you to be relieved of the pressure. Yeah, definitely, we would love to continue the winning momentum in the tournament. It is a great tournament, my second term in the league."
7:20 PM IST | A couple of boundaries to end the match, but the Rovman Powell-led side fell short of the target miserably. A dominating day on the field handed them the much-needed 2 points as Deccan Gladiators won this match with a fine margin!

Earlier in the match, Deccan Gladiators won the toss and opt to bat first. Jason Roy departed in the second over after giving a brisk start of 10-ball 18. But what happened next was just scintillating as Nicholas Pooran smoked the Warriors bowlers all around the park to hit 80 runs from just 32 balls, including 10 fours and 3 sixes. Tom Kohler-Cadmore gave good support to Pooran with an unbeaten 16-ball 32 runs and added a partnership of 109 runs for the second wicket, and helped the side post a total of 138/3 in their allotted 10 overs. For Northern Warriors, Junaid Siddique and Rayad Emrit picked a wicket each.

It was always going to be tough chasing a target like 139, but the sizzling start of 59 runs provided by the duo of Adam Lyth and Kennar Lewis made Northern Warriors believe in them. But with the wicket of both these batters, the collapse began, and the rest of the batters didn’t trouble the scorers much. While Lewis was out in the 5th over, Lyth fell just after his swashbuckling half-century in the next over. Overall, the Warriors did manage to get over the 100-run mark but fell short of the target by 24 runs.

For the bowling side, Tom Helm scalped a couple of wickets, while Joshua Little, Odean Smith, and David Wiese picked a wicket each.

Stay tuned for the presentations!

4 Another boundary to finish the proceedings. Good length outside the off stump. Usman jumps down the pitch and slaps hard through the off side. No protection in the deep and it doesn't matter as the Gladiators win by 24 runs.
9.5 D Wiese to U Khan
4 FOUR! Use of the feet from Usman. Wiese is smart and bowls this slower, shorter and away from the reach of the batter. Usman rides the bounce and throws his hands at it to get an edge towards third man for four.
9.4 D Wiese to L Dawson
1 Slow and wide yorker. Dawson backs away and digs towards point for a run.
9.3 D Wiese to U Khan
1 Slower bouncer on the off stump. Usman charges down the track and swats this away to long on for just a single.

1 Full and outside off. Dawson digs it hard towards Sultan at mid off who fumbles as a single is taken.
9.1 D Wiese to L Dawson
4 FOUR to bring up 100 for Warriors. Over the wicket, a loosener. Full toss on the middle stump. Dawson comes down the track and pulls backward of square for four.
