So, that's it from this game. Join us for three more games from the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2022 and for all other cricketing action across the globe in our network. For now, this is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Ninaad Dixit alongside scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Until next time, good night, and cheers!
Nicholas Pooran: "I won't say that [pressure on being the defending champions]. We spoke about doing the right things. Obviously about being victorious again. We take it game by game. Its nice to see getting a good outcome as well. It was really nice but I don't think there was pressure.

[On attacking in T10]. You try to strike the ball more. When you come into the game today it was all about hitting a few sixes and to back myself. We obviously got a big total but we want to express ourselves and enjoy. Really happy the way the guys bowled. I didn't know some of the guys but whenever I called they came up and executed. Players like Shamsi, Tom, Zahoor, David, Josh, it was good to see these guys placing their fields and execute which is very important in this format. They executed their plans well."
Nicholas Pooran is the player of the match.
Tabraiz Shamsi: "Being champions gives us confidence. We want to try every game if possible. Really happy whenever I join a new team. I was happy to do my bit but it was not about me. The batters did a great job, Nicholas Pooran played brilliantly and other players did their job as well. But I'm happy with my performance that it was 1/4 and not 1/40."
An impressive performance from the Deccan Gladiators as they outplayed Team Abu Dhabi in all facets of the game to win by 35 runs and start their campaign with a win. It was the Nicholas Pooran show earlier in the day, and then a disciplined bowling performance helped restrict Team Abu Dhabi to 99/6 in 10 overs.

Chasing a massive target of 135 for an improbable win, Team Abu Dhabi lost Alex Hales early for 8. Chris Lynn chipped in with 14 off 10 balls. James Vince was the star of the show with 37 off 19 balls as he top-scored for Abu Dhabi. Fabian Allen remained unbeaten on 26 off 13 balls. But he was injured and could not run. The rest of the batters couldn't get to double-figures as they ended with 99/6 in 10 overs with 7 extras given by the fielding side.

Tom Helm was the pick of the bowlers for the Deccan Gladiators with 2/11 in 2 overs. Zahoor Khan picked up a couple of wickets in his 2 overs for 21 runs. A wicket apiece for Joshua Little and Tabraiz Shamsi. Sultan Ahmed and David Wiese went the distance, but they had enough in the bank to defend.

Earlier in the game, Deccan Gladiators after winning the toss and opting to bat first posted a mammoth 134/6 in 10 overs. It was skipper Nicholas Pooran's show all the way as he powered his way to 77 off 33 balls with 5 fours and 8 sixes in this innings. Odean Smith contributed with 23 off 12 balls while Tom Kohler-Cadmore scored 13 off 7 balls. As many as 19 extras were given by Team Abu Dhabi which included 17 wides as the score read 134/6 in 10 overs.

Peter Hatzoglou was the pick of the bowlers for Team Abu Dhabi with figures of 2/12 in 2 overs. He was ably supported by Fabian Allen as he picked up a couple of wickets for 18 runs in 2 overs. The other wicket was taken by Naveen Ul Haq. It was a day to forget for Mustafizur Rahman as he went for 45 off 2 overs. Nicholas Pooran was heavy on him today as he would like to bounce back in the coming days.

So, a win for Deccan Gladiators by 35 runs to pick up their first win of the competition. Stay tuned for the presentation coming your way soon.

Excellent spell from Tom Helm.
9.5 T Helm to P Hatzoglou

9.2 T Helm to A Tye
0 Full outside the off stump. Driven hard but straight to Suresh Raina at extra cover who has a shy at the striker's end but misses. Andrew Tye wanted a single but is sent back by Fabian Allen who is not in the best shape to run.

8.3 Z Khan to A Tye
1 In the air but through the off side. Fuller delivery on the off stump. Tye opens the face of the bat and plays aerially towards deep cover for a run. 48 off 9.
