Deepak: That’s the end of the 4th Asia Cup qualifiers between Kuwait and Hong Kong where Hong Kong thumped Kuwait by 8 wickets. A brilliant display of the batting performance by Hong Kong helped them seal the match by 8 wickets.
Earlier Kuwait scored 151 runs at the loss of 9 wickets where they batted brilliantly in the last 5 overs as they were able to score 74 runs in the last 5 overs and set the target of 152 runs for Hong Kong.
Hong Kong came out to chase down 152 runs and they started their innings with impunity as they were able to score 48 runs in the powerplay without losing any wickets. Yasim Murtaza and Nizakat Khan built a partnership of 59 runs for the first wicket as Murtaza fell just 4 runs short of his half-century and was cleaned bowled by Adnan in the fifth ball of the 8th over.
Nizakat Khan played brilliantly throughout the inning and scored 50 runs off 43 balls. Babar Hayat batted till the end and scored 53 runs off just 30 balls and sealed the match for his team.
On the other hand, Shafeeq and Adnan shared one wicket each.
