That's it from our coverage of the 14th match from WBBL 2022. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay tuned for more cricket coverage from across the globe.
Holly Ferling: "Bit of a bitter sweet moment. You want to play at WACA. Not the result we wanted but executing our plans was a bit hard. We want to find the partnerships again tomorrow. Kapp was fantastic with the bat. Lots of positives from the game including Kapp's performance with the bat. It was a much better wicket than it was the other night. Easier for the batting team. I think there's lots of positives to take from the game but we would like to do better as a fielding unit."
Lauren Smith: "We know we had a few home games around but you travel as a team together and get to know the lads well. Our bowlers bowled really well throughout the tournament and the good total on the board helped us executing our plans today. I think Tammy is made for these hard wickets here and she really dominated out in the middle."
It's all over as the Sydney Thunder get their first win of the season and the Perth Scorchers get their first defeat going down by 25 runs here at the WACA. Perth won the toss and elected to bowl first but things didn't go their way as an excellent performance form opener Tammy Beaumont (77*) and some handy knocks from Rachael Haynes, Amy Jones and Olivia Porter in the middle order propelled the Thunder to score a healthy 166/4 at the end of the first half.

Only Marizanne Kapp kept the scoring rate in check with her economy of 5 an over. In response the Scorchers kept losing wickets at regular intervals with Marizanne Kapp doing the bulk of the scoring hitting 32 off 23 balls with the help of 4 fours raising the hopes of the Scorchers fans but after her wicket, it was all but over for the Scorchers.

An entertaining knock of 29 off 16 deliveries from Alana King was the only positive as the Scorchers surrendered against the bowling line up led by Lauren Smith who picked up a 5-wicket haul conceding just 17 runs off her 4 overs.

Sammy-Jo Johnson didn't have a great day with the ball in hand as she ended up conceding 50 runs but picked up 2 wickets as well. Sam Bates and Lea Tahuhu chipped in with a wicket apiece conceding 16 and 33 runs respectively.

The Perth Scorchers are placed second at the points table as the Sydney Thunder with their 1st win now hold 2 points to stay on the 7th position.

Sydney Thunder wins this game by 25 runs as they get their first win in the campaign.
