Lee-Ann Kirby(Player of the Match): "My role as a batsman was to score runs and build partnership in the beginning and score runs in the end which I tried to do but lost my wicket in a very unfortunate way. I never bowled in a SIXTY game but I was very confident to bowl in this format of the game where you have time. I always back myself as a bowler as I have some variations and I stuck myself to those things only".
Harsh: It was a great match indeed. After a strong batting lineup failed, the bowlers did their job very professionally. Then, Kirby, who fell short of scoring runs, took two crucial wickets and gave some strong contributions to the Riders. After a good start, Matthews got out as a soft dismissal. Boyce also came back to the pavilion soon after scoring five runs. Allyne, who opened the inning with Matthews, took her time but didn't contribute much to the score as she left in the 10th over looking to hit over point and giving an easy catch to the point fielder.
It was indeed a great inning by Tryon, who was in sublime touch as she hit 3 sixes in an over to Kirby but lost her wicket in the same over. Apart from Tryon, none of the players looked in good form as the middle order departed, contributing very few runs. Still, the match went till the 20th over, the six of the third delivery by Sana gave some hope to Royals Women but Dottin finished off the inning very well.
Knight Riders Women's hold their nerves till the last over and won the match by 1 run in the last over. Kodali, Grimmond, Jensen, Mohammed and Dottin took one wicket each.
