Player Bio

One of the most powerful hitters of the white ball, Deandra Dottin is the most talented player from the West Indies Women’s domain. Born in Barbados, she also contributes with the bowl in hand and has become an invaluable asset to the Windies national team.

On June 24th, 2008, Dottin made her debut for the West Indies women’s team against Ireland Women and scored her first half-century in international cricket in her fourth ODI against the Netherlands.

Dottin holds the record for the fastest half-century for her blistering 22 balls 50 against Australia in the 2009 World Twenty20. In the opening match of 2010 ICC Women’s World Twenty20, she scored the first century in a women’s Twenty20 International. Batting at number six, she scored 50 off just 25 balls and the next 50 came off just 13 balls. Dottin’s mind-boggling 38-ball century, which included five fours and nine sixes, remains the quickest by any cricketer, male or female, in T20Is.

The Barbados-born all-rounder played a match-winning innings in the Heat's opening game of the 2016-17 season, smashing an unbeaten 60 off 44 balls to fire the team home against the Sydney Sixers. Her key strikes in the super over against Adelaide Strikers helped the Heats to bag a berth in their first-ever semifinal in the 2016-17 Women’s Big Bash League. She was also a key figure in the victorious 2016 World T20 campaign with both bat and bowl. Her key contributions included figures of 2-33 in the final.

In 2018, The experienced campaigner for the Women in Maroon was named as the T20 Cricketer of the Year at the annual Cricket West Indies’ Awards. Her domination in international and domestic T20 leagues around the world has proved to be deadly for bowlers all around the world.
