That brings us to the end of the coverage of this fantastic encounter between Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat. It was Brisbane Heat's day today as they sneaked away with a victory they will be facing Sydney Sixers in a challenger match on 2nd Feb.Do join us for all the upcoming games from all around the globe. For now, it's me Megh Mandaliya signing off along with my co-commentator Hitesh Peddurwar and scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi. Until then stay safe...
Xavier Bartlett (Player of the match): "Great to win, we are over the moon at the moment. Yeah good to contribute to the team. It's absolutely a good experience to have Khawaja and Marnus in the dressing room they have very good cricketing brains and it's good to get tips from them. They are just class acts. Yeah, we have entered into the challenger obviously it will not be an easy task but we hope that we will finish things on a positive note in the next game too."
4:54 PM IST | THAT’S IT! Sam Hain has finished the proceedings in style. The Brisbane Heat have thwarted the Renegades by 7 wickets to advance to the Challenger. They will now lock horns with Sydney Sixers. What a turnaround this has been from the Usman Khawaja-led Heat; they are one step closer to the big final.

I
n pursuit of a challenging total of 163, the Brisbane Heat gave them the desirable start by swatting 27 off the powerplay without losing any wickets. Usman Khawaja started the assault and Josh Brown soon followed him with his pyrotechnics. The left-right duo glued an opening partnership of 75 runs before David Moody dismissed Brown for 39(27) which includes 1 four and 4 maximums to his credit.

Marnus Labuschagne, the next man in, then joined forces with Khawaja and kept the scorecard ticking. Khawaja brought up his 12th BBL fifty in the 13th over, and since then asking run rate wasn’t an issue. The southpaw stitched 59(47), including 8 fours and 1 maximum before Tom Rogers got rid of him in the Power Surge. That was soon followed by another big wicket of Labuschagne 23(21). However, Matt Renshaw came to the rescue for Heat and secured a comprehensive victory after stitching a quickfire 27(13)*.

Earlier in the day, after being invited to bat first, the Renegades were off to a sedate start by stitching 22 out of the powerplay. Sam Harper, then joined forces with Shaun Marsh and accelerated in the innings. The duo glued 58 runs for the 2nd wicket with Marsh being the leading figure in the partnership.

Marsh, who was dropped on 14, ended up orchestrating 82(53)*, including 9 fours and 2 maximums, and took the scorecard past 160. Xavier Bartlett was the pick of the bowlers for Heat and ended his stint on 3/18. Michael Neser also extracted a couple of wickets. Stick around for the post-match presentation!
