That brings an end to our coverage for this game. Keep following all the live-action from all around the globe. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Megh Mandaliya and scorer Manish Bishnoi. Tata. Bye Bye.
Steve Smith has been named as the player of the match.
04:43 PM IST | Akshay: That's it. Sydney Sixers continue their dominance at the SCG as they beat Sydney Thunder by 125 runs in the Sydney Smash. Steve Smith’s masterclass with the bat set up things nicely for them before the bowlers stepped up to knock over Thunder on 62 to win the game comprehensively.

Chasing 188 was always going to be a difficult task. Sydney Thunder didn’t have the best of starts as they lost Matthew Gilkes in the second over. The batters struggled to get going and as a result, the required run rate crept up. David Warner struggled for timing and fell on a 23-ball 16 in the 10th over.

The Sixers kept picking wickets at regular intervals and didn’t allow Thunder to get back in the contest. It was a sorry-looking scorecard for the Thunder fans. None of the lower-order batters contributed as only two batters managed to get to double digits. Eventually, they got bundled out on 62 to lose the game by 125 runs. Steve O'Keefe bowled beautifully for the Sixers and picked up four wickets, giving away only 10 runs in his three overs. Sean Abbott and Ben Dwarshuis also chipped in with three and two wickets respectively as they completed a big win over Thunder.

The game was reduced to 19 overs per side. The Sixers opted to bat first and got off to a very good start. Steve Smith continued his rich form with the bat as he played some beautiful strokes upfront. Josh Philippe departed on 10 in the last over of the powerplay. Kurtis Patterson also fell cheaply and it brought Moises Henriques to the crease. He along with Smith started building a partnership for the third wicket. Thunder failed to create further inroads as they were hit all around the park, courtesy of some brilliance from Smith.

Smith played some sensational strokes and raced to his fifty in no time. He was well-supported by his skipper from the other end. Smith teed off after getting to his fifty. He hit sixes for fun and brought up his second BBL ton off just 56 balls. He hit 5 fours and nine maximums in his unbeaten knock of 125 as it powered the Sixers to 187 at the end of their innings. Henriques remained unbeaten on 45 as the duo put 155 between them for the third wicket. The total proved to be too much for Thunder as they suffered a heavy loss.
14.4 Abbott to C Green
W BOWLED' EM! It's all over here at the SCG! A leg-cutter from Abbott angling away from the middle stump mark, Green takes a stride forward and looks to block that but was early on the push as the ball passes the outside edge and crashes the off stump. An emphatic victory for the Sixers. They have thumped the Thunder by 125 runs, which is ironically Steve Smith's total today.
14.3 Abbott to U Qadir
1 Fuller and outside off, Qadir pushes that to point for a single.

14.2 Abbott to G Sandhu
W IN THE AIR AND CAUGHT! Abbott gets his second wicket and Thunder are 9 down now. Bangs it short and on the top of the middle, Sandhu goes for a wild hoick but was early on the shot and gets the top edge that balloons up in the air. Moises completes the catch at mid-wicket and Sandhu departs for a duck.
14.1 Abbott to C Green
1 Abbott is brought back into the attack. Good length and angling into the right-hander, Green opens the face early and gets the inside edge to the pitch for a quick single.
Power Surge has been opted by Sydney Thunder.

13.4 B Dwarshuis to J Davies
W WICKET! 8 down now and Dwarshuis gets another wicket. Back of a length delivery on the leg stump line, Davies swivels and goes with the angle for a big heave. He fails to middle that and Murphy stationed at fine leg completes the catch with ease.
13.3 B Dwarshuis to C Green
1 Fuller and just wide of off stump, Green bends low and steers that to short covers for a single.
