Player Bio

Predominantly a white-ball cricketer, Chris Green is a tall off-spinner who was born in South Africa and raised in Australia. Green excelled in both cricket and tennis while he was young but decided to ply his trade in cricket. He has a fine pedigree in the shortest format of the game, playing across the globe in most of the world’s leading T20 tournaments.

Green made his List A debut for the Blues during the 2014/15 Matador BBQs One-Day Cup when both Nathan Lyon and Stephen O’Keefe were on national duty. He was selected again for the next season but was later sideline when the Australian players made themselves available for domestic cricket.

The all-rounder is a fan favourite within the Thunder Nation and a highly sought-after player for any T20 team around the world. Green has plenty of big games experience featuring in the Big Bash League(BBL) with Sydney Thunder, the Indian Premier League with Kolkata Knight Riders, the Caribbean Premier League with Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Vitality Blast with Middlesex.

The Durban-born all-rounder was the talk of the show when he was handed a 90-day suspension for an illegal bowling action in the 2020 edition of the BBL. He was cleared six months later following testing in Brisbane. Green was signed as a replacement for Mujeeb for the first half of the ongoing T20 Blast.
