That's it from all of us for this game. Do join us for the second match today. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Ninaad Dixit and scorer Paras Yadav. Bye Bye.
Josh Inglis is named the Player of the Match.
11:30 AM IST | Akshay: That’s it. A close-fought victory for the Perth Scorchers as they beat the Melbourne Renegades by five wickets to register their fifth win of the competition and stay at the top of the points table. The Renegades suffer their fourth straight loss and will have to turn the tables around in their upcoming games.

Chasing 156 on this surface was going to be a tricky one. The Scorchers lost Adam Lyth early in the innings. Faf du Plessis along with Cameron Bancroft started building a partnership for the second wicket. Both played some brilliant strokes and kept finding the boundaries regularly. Kane Richardson broke the 57-run stand when he dismissed du Plessis on 39. There was no stopping Bancroft at the other end as he played beautifully and was well-supported by Josh Inglis.

Bancroft played a well-compiled knock of 46 before getting run out in the 16th over. Inglis kept his cool and almost took his side across the line. He fell on 47 with just one required to win. Nick Hobson hit the winning runs as the Scorchers got across the line with two balls to spare. Kane Richardson picked up two wickets for the Renegades but it wasn’t enough as they failed to defend the total.

Earlier, the Renegades decided to bat first and it backfired as they lost three wickets inside the powerplay. They were reeling at 32/3 in the sixth over before Aaron Finch and Jonathan Wells started building a partnership. They kept ticking the scoreboard and put 52 between them before Wells was knocked over on 22.

Finch looked good at the crease and played some beautiful strokes. He brought up his 24th BBL fifty off 39 balls. He fell on 65 but not before building a solid platform for his side to finish on a high. 59 runs came in the last five overs as cameos from Mackenzie Harvey (16), Will Sutherland (14*) and Akeal Hosein (15*) helped them post 155 on the board. The Scorchers picked up six wickets in total, with Andrew Tye finishing with three. Their batters then stepped up to chase down the total in the last over.

19.3 W Sutherland to J Inglis
W Appeal for leg before and the finger is up!! Josh Inglis has reviewed it straightaway! The batters have crossed ends. It was a yorker dead in front of the middle and leg stump. The ball appears to have hit the back leg as the ball moves towards short fine leg. No bat involved according to ultraedge  and there are 3 reds on ball tracking! Drama at the Marvel Stadium! Josh Inglis is out leg before with 1 needed off 3 balls!
19.2 W Sutherland to A Hardie
1 Attempted yorker on the off stump. Pushed down the ground to long on for a single.
19.1 W Sutherland to A Hardie
0 A dot to start the final over. Sutherland from over the wicket bowls it full on leg, Hardie makes room and swings hard at it but misses. Straight through to Harper behind the stumps.
Just 2 required from the last over.
