That brings an end to our coverage for this game. Do join us for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is me, Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Tugral Azmi and scorer Yogesh Kumar. Bye bye.
Matthew Short (Player of the Match): "I think Hales is a unique batsman and he moves around the crease. It's nice to watch at times but I stuck to my plans. I tried to stay positive and build innings with Lynn. They bowled really well up front. It goes two ways. Either you hit and pick out the fielders and get out or else stay till the end. Lynn asked me to stay patient. Lynn is used to carrying the team and feels awesome to bat with him."
Matthew Short is named the Player of the Match.
Akshay | 04:50 PM IST: That’s it. A solid all-round effort from the Adelaide Strikers sees them beat Sydney Thunder by six wickets to complete a convincing win at the Adelaide Oval. With this, they stay unbeaten in the competition and retain their position at the top of the points table.

Defending 151 was always going to be a difficult task on this surface. Gurinder Sandhu removed Jake Weatherald on seven in the third over. Matthew Short was joined by Chris Lynn and both started the recovery work for the hosts. Both took some time to settle but teed off once they got their eye in. Short played aggressively and Lynn played the role of a second fiddle perfectly. Short hit some fantastic shots and brought up his fifty.

Short and Lynn put 83 between them before the latter was cleaned up by Nathan McAndrew on 28. Short was looking good before he was trapped in front of the stumps on 65. Adam Hose remained unbeaten on 28 and made sure that there were no more hiccups in the chase as he took his side across the line in the penultimate over. McAndrew picked up two wickets with the ball but it wasn't enough as they failed to defend the total.

Earlier, Sydney Thunder won the toss and opted to bat first. Alex Hales, opening the batting, got them off to a flying start. He took on the bowling from the word go and played some sensational strokes. Matthew Gilkes and Rilee Rossouw failed to get going but Oliver Davies supported Hales nicely from the other end. Both built a solid partnership for the third wicket.

Hales was going nicely from one end and he brought up his fifty. He departed on 68 in the 16th over while trying to up the ante. Davies scored 42 but failed to hit boundaries as he fell in the 18th over. It helped the Strikers pull back things as they restricted Thunder to 150/5 at the end of their 20 overs. Henry Thornton and Colin de Grandhomme bowled beautifully and picked up two wickets apiece. Rashid Khan also chipped in with a wicket. Their batters then stepped up to chase down the total comfortably.

Run Out Check. Gilkes dislodges the bails and Grandhomme is short of the crease. The third umpire is ready with the decision and OUT is displayed on the big screen.
17.5 B Doggett to Grandhomme
1W RUN-OUT!!! A touch fuller outside off, Colin squeezes it to the sweeper cover region and is set off for a run. Easy single and then turns for the deadly second. Colin ends up well short of his ground at the striker's end. There was no second it as the deep fielder throws it to Gilkes who whips the bails off in a flash. The third umpire is ready with the decision and OUT is displayed on the big screen.
17.4 B Doggett to A Hose
1 Yorker is right in the blockhole. Digs it out well by Hose to the on-side for a single.
17.3 B Doggett to A Hose

17.2 B Doggett to Grandhomme

6 SIXXXX!!! In the air and six. Full toss delivery, angling into the leg stump. Colin shuffles across and whips it aerially, gets more elevation but enough distance to clear the backward square leg fence for a biggie.
