That’s it from Game 26 of the CPL between Trinbago Knight Riders and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. This is Vatsal signing off alongside Megh and our scorer/analyst Chandan. Do join us for more exciting fixtures across the globe. Until then, take care and good bye from us.

Kieron Pollard (Losing Skipper): "Being able to bat and bring it down was good. They took it away from us at the end (first innings). Bowling yorkers at the death and bowling in pressure situations is a learning experience for everyone. I didn't think the game was all mine. We knew it would be tough. We need to take challenges instead of easy options. Those runs at the end weren't great. It is a must-win game now for us. This is why we play cricket, for games like these. We just have to stand up and make ourselves count."
Dwayne Bravo (Winning Skipper): "It was a good win. Happy with the effort. We see this team as the best in the tournament and we were looking forward to it. They are talented guys. I keep asking the guys to stand up and put their hands up. Good to see the way Brevis played. He has the power, and we gave him less time to think about the game. He had just enough time to make an impact. Sheldon Cottrell is growing in strength, and Rashid Khan is as well. Can't forget Sinclair either".
Sherafane Rutherford ( Player of the Match): "It worked well for us to bat first. A difficult wicket to start on. Wanted to take some time and it went well for me. It was a big catch. As a team, we always celebrate every wicket like it is our last. I was calm and enjoyed the game. I played a lot of cricket around the world and that helps me keep calm. It has helped me with crowds and with playing under pressure".
Sherafane Rutherford is the Player of the Match with his knock of 78 off 50.
Time for the post-match presentation...
23:30 IST | The Patriots fight to live another day and have beaten Trinbago Knight Riders by 7 runs in a much-needed win for them and keeps them alive in the tournament.

Chasing 164 for victory, TKR got off to a poor start losing Julien and Munro early in the chase. Pollard and Seifert added 57 for the 3rd wicket and steadied the innings. Pollard was dismissed for 31 and Pooran followed soon after for 15. Seifert played an outstanding knock of 59 off 47 and kept the TKR in chase till he got out. Russell came in at 6 and got going straight away. He was eventually dismissed for 29 off 17 and could not take his team over the line. Trinbago Knight Riders ended with 156 for 7 in their 20.

The Patriots' bowling was tidy throughout. Kevin Sinclair got 2 for 18 in his spell and was well supported by Rashid Khan (0-12 in 4 overs). DJ Bravo got 2 for 46 and Sheldon Cottrell rounded off the effort with an excellent bowling performance of 3 for 33 in his 4-over spell. A complete performance by the Patriots keeps the TKR to 156.

Earlier in the day, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots after winning the flip and electing to bat first were off to a sedate start. The surface was sluggish and dry and as a result, St Kitts and Nevis only managed to secure 20 in the powerplay by losing one wicket. Andre Fletcher 2(12) was the first one to go as he was beaten by a shorter delivery by Andre Russell soon followed by the wicket of Keacy Carty 5(11). Evin Lewis started his innings on a positive note but also departed for 15(19) soon and landed the Patriots in a quandary.

The Patriots were 43/3 at the halfway stage and Trinbago was in complete control of the game. However, Darren Bravo and Sherfane Rutherford had other plans. The duo stitched a much-needed partnership of 66 and resurrected the Patriots’ innings. Rutherford laid the foundation and took charge while Bravo played the second fiddle. Just when the Patriots were shifting the momentum back, Bravo departed after scoring 23(21) but Rutherford kept going and scored 78 (50), including six boundaries and five maximums. The changing point in the game arrived when the Patriots stitched 30 runs off the penultimate over. Buoyed by some late hitting by Brevis 30 (6), including five maximums helped the Patriots reach 163 for 6.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have played this like a final and have played some exceptional cricket today. They move to number 4 in the points table.

19.6 S Cottrell to S Patel
4 FOUR! But it doesn't matter. The Patriots have won this encounter and they will climb up to the fourth position at the points table. They are still alive in the competition. It was a well-directed yorker from Cottrell, on the middle, Patel looks to flick that, but gets the outside edge that travels right to the backward point for a boundary. In the end. the Patriots have won this encounter by 7 runs.

19.5 S Cottrell to S Narine
W WICKET! Cottrell you beauty, he brings up the salute celebration and this is the match for the Patriots. On a hard-length, on the middle and off, Narine bides at the crease and looks to clear in-field but he gets the top-edge of his bat that travels straight to Bravo at points, who makes no mistake. Cottrell is on a HAT-TRICK!

19.4 S Cottrell to A Russell
W BOWLEDD HIMM! Cottrell has brought back the Patriots in the game. A huge wicket, Russell departs. It was fuller and quick, on the stumps, Russell clears his front leg and looked to clobber that towards long-on but completely misjudged that and the ball disturbs the timbers.12 require from 2 now.
