That brings us to the end of our coverage for the 28th match of the season. Tune into our coverage for the match between CSK and the Gujarat Titans which will begin in about five minutes time. It's me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) signing off in the behalf of my co-commentators Anirudh Modi and Ayan Chatterjee along with our scorer

Arya: Earlier in the day, it was SRH skipper Kane Williamson who won the toss and following the trend of this tournament put Punjab Kings in. Shikhar Dhawan who captained Punjab in the absence of Mayank Agarwal suffered an early groin injury in the first over itself which restricted his bat flow. Eventually, he was dismissed pretty cheaply as he failed to clear the infield and was holed out at mid-on. It was a good start with the ball from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Marco Jansen.

While Bhuvi accounted for Shikhar Dhawan, it was Natarajan who gave SRH their 2nd wicket bagging the wicket of Prabhsimran Singh after he played some good shots. Jonny Bairstow couldn’t quite get going and was dismissed by Jagadeesh Suchith in his very first over. He went for a sweep but missed the line of the ball completely and it struck him plumb in front.

The impetus in the middle overs was provided by Liam Livingstone who continued his exceptional run in the tournament. He started off with a couple of cute ramp shots in the very first over of Marco Jansen and set the tone for the rest of the innings. Jitesh Sharma was dismissed early by pace sensation Umran Malik who had a sensational day at the office.

Livingstone kept smashing the SRH bowlers all around the park and even took Umran Malik apart in his 3rd over. Shahrukh Khan also struck some lusty blows but in one of the deliveries, he refused a double when it was definitely on and for the next sequence of deliveries, he couldn't quite put bat to ball and put a lot of pressure on Livingstone at the other end. He was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar after scoring 26 of 28 deliveries.

Odeon Smith then missed a few which again kept Livingstone out of the strike. Eventually, he was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the penultimate over. However, the highlight of the innings was Umran Malik’s sensational final over where he didn’t concede a single run and went on to bag three more wickets finishing with exceptional figures of 4/28 in his quota of 4 overs.

Arya: The run-chase could have been a tricky one for the Sunrisers had they lost early wickets and it was Kagiso Rabada who provided an early breakthrough in the form of Kane Willamson’s wicket. He is their best batsman and his dismissal early on was a huge blow to the Sunrisers. His partner Abhishek Sharma who had played some good knocks in the last few encounters got going again and scored 31 of 25 deliveries. Rahul Tripathi got off to a blistering start and continued his flamboyant style of batting.

It was Rahul Chahar who turned the match with the wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi in back to back overs. Still, with Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram in the middle, the run-chase was still going to be a pretty straightforward one for SRH with the style both these batters had. However had they lost any more wickets from there, things could have turned on it's head.

Both the batters were sensible in their approach and never looked in any trouble whatsoever. Aiden Markram in particular found the boundaries whenever the required rate went up and Nicholas Pooran also kept up with the pace. The duo shared an unbeaten stand of 75 runs to take their side over the finishing line with an over and delivery to spare. It was Aiden Markram who smashed a four and a six to seal the deal. He remained unbeaten on 41 of 27 deliveries while Pooran remained undefeated on 35 of 30 deliveries. For Punjab, Rahul Chahar was the most successful bowler bagging a couple of wickets.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar: "There was swing early on and luckily I got a wicket in the first over and that was good for us. I knew he was going to step out and hit, I just wanted to hit hard lengths but generally, that's how I planned with the fielders as well. I always try to exploit the batter's weakness or my strengths and depending on the wicket, I look up to which lengths I want to bowl. I don't think it helps me if he bowls slow people go after him. It always gives me the joy to watch him taking wickets."
Shikhar Dhawan: "I'm good, Mayank got injured not me. I feel that we were quite a few runs short, around 30-40, and lost too many early wickets that put us behind in the game. I feel that once we lost wickets at the start, we had to hold on and take the game deep but Livi played really well, outstanding knock. The wicket had a bit of an extra bounce and I feel that we got a bit late in adjusting to it. We will be talking with the batting unit, about how to not repeat what happened today and keep wickets in hand till 13-14th over, we have to do well together and that's the key."
Arya: That is an incredible finish from Aiden Markram as he takes his side over the line with more than an over to spare. This means that SRH is into the top four with four wins from six encounters. What an incredible comeback this has been from the Sunrisers after losing their first two games.
18.5 V Arora to A Markram
6 Aiden Markram has finished off proceedings in style. Quite exceptional shot from Aiden Markram and that will certainly help their net run rate. Markram leaves his mark. Was again a full one from Vaibhab Arora. Markram clears his front leg and goes downtown on this occasion. Just manages to get that over the wide long-off fielder for a maximum.
18.4 V Arora to A Markram
4 How good is that shot from Aiden Markram. Stays leg side and crashes that over extra covers for a boundary. This bloke has got all the shots in the book. A full one from Vaibhab Arora on the middle-stump. Markram clears his front leg and thumps that over extra covers in a nonchalant manners and finds the boundary.
18.3 V Arora to N Pooran
1 A full one outside the off-stump from Arora. Smashed down the ground all along the carpet by Nicholas Pooran but finds the long-off fielder.
18.2 V Arora to A Markram
1 Markram makes some room and Vaibhav Arora follows him. Markram trying to upset the rhythm of the bowler by moving across. Was a full toss but Markram didn't get the space to free his arms. Works it away down the deep square leg region for a single.
18.1 V Arora to N Pooran
1lb Vaibhav Arora into the attack. A big shout from the bowler but it had pitched outside leg. On a length this time from Arora, Pooran shuffles across the off stump and Pooran swings across the line. Doesnt make contact. Strikes him high on te back leg and it trickles down the off side and the batters take a leg bye single.

17.6 A Singh to N Pooran
1 Arshdeep Singh ends the over and his spell with a fuller-length delivery on the stumps. Pooran works it away down the midwicket region for a single and keeps strike for the next over.
17.5 A Singh to N Pooran
4 This time it has been squeezed away down the deep point region for a boundary. That was a brilliant delivery from Arshdeep Singh to be honest. A yorker outside off almost under the bat of Pooran. He opens the face of the bat at the last moment and squeezes it away down the vacant spots on the off side and finds the boundary.
17.4 A Singh to N Pooran
0 That was a close call to being a wide. Pooran was crouching there was close to a wide. Arshdeep bangs this short and Pooran lets it go through to the keeper.
17.3 A Singh to N Pooran
2 Two is the call and Pooran was putting pressure on his batting partner. He thought there was two and eventually completes it. Putting pressure on the outfielders and ends up reaching the crease. A low full toss again from Arshdeep and that has been worked away down the deep square le region.
17.2 A Singh to N Pooran
0 He has absolutely clobbered Arshdeep here and that can hurt. A short of a length delivery well outside off and Pooran flat bats that straight back. to the bowler and he somehow manages to stop that. He is bowling a whole hearted effort here. Pooran wants to get the job done.
17.1 A Singh to A Markram
1 Arshdeep Singh int his final over. Looks for the yorker. Doesnt find his length. A low full toss and Markram clears his front leg and squeezes this down the long-off region for a single.
