"It feels so good to win back-to-back. I really feel Alex and I did really well at the top. My role was to build match-ups in the middle and get a few boundaries which by god’s grace clicked well for me today. We both back our skills and complement each other well. The target was a below-par one for them looking at this track. Now we have a couple of days off and we will grab much-needed rest and then be back on the ground by Friday."
NIKHIL: So, we are done here with Trent Rockets winning the game as they defeat Northern Superchargers by 7 wickets, chasing down the target of 152 with ease.
Northern Superchargers started the innings in a sloppy manner as they lost their top order cheaply. Lyth, Du Plessis, Pepper, Bravo, and Simpson all got out on a total of 60 in 47 deliveries. It was for Wiese and Merwe to help them post a total of 152 as they both batter superbly to score 83 runs together. Wiese was the top scorer for the Superchargers as he scored a half-century.
For the Trent Rockets team, Sams took 3 wickets well helped by Wood and Fletcher who scalped a couple each. Samit Patel took a wicket too.
In reply to the target set by the Superchargers side, Rockets started in the best possible way as they scored 41 runs in the first 25 deliveries without losing any wicket.
Hales and Malan started off in a sensational manner as they scored 86 runs for the first wicket partnership as Hales fell trying to sweep one towards square leg on a score of 43. Cadmore walked in and perished on a score of 1. Munro then came out to bat and he along with Malan helped the Rockets get over the line with a partnership of 52 runs before Munro got out with just 8 needed to win. Malan was the top scorer for the Rockets as he scored 88 runs not-out.
For the Superchargers side, Rashid got rid of Hales. Raine got rid of Cadmore soon after, and Bravo go the wicket of Munro too little too late but apart from them, no bowler stood up to take the responsibility of making a meal out of this score as the Rockets chased this total down with ease.
