The England U19s sit comfortably at the top of Group A with 2 points and a healthy NRR of 1.9. That's all from us for today's game. Until the next one, take care, and stay safe!
England U19 skipper Tom Prest: It was a perfect start for us. We couldn't have asked for anything better. As for the toss, it was a good toss to lose. Boyden has been really good for us in recent times. He is good at swinging the ball at the beginning to the left-handers. Our fielding was also good. While we didn't start too well with the bat, we dominated as the game progressed.
Bangladesh U19 skipper Rakibul Hasan: I think we didn't do well as a batting unit. We need to improve on that aspect. We have some players who can bat well towards the end. So, if we start well, we can utilise our depth well. I believe we bowled well, but the second half was easier for batting. I am happy with our bowling and fielding. We have two games remaining. We have to play our best cricket to win both of them.
Man of the Match - Josh Boyden : It was a great performance from the boys. Always good to take a few wickets. We spoke before the start of the game and thought that bowling full is the right option. We need to take what we did well from this game and carry it forward to the next games.
All of Ashiqur Zaman, Rakibul Hasan, and Ripon Mondol looked very good for Bangladesh. However, with just 97 runs on the board, it was never enough for them to put the opposition under pressure with their bowling.
A comfortable two points for the England U19s. They started off well and never let the Bangladesh U19s take control of the game. Despite chasing a rather low total, the 65-run partnership between Jacob Bethell and James Rew was significant as it made sure the English boys ended up on the winning side.
