8:52 PM IST, 5:22 PM Local Time: The United States of America beat their oldest rivals Canada by 20 runs to move to 3 points in the table, getting in a very good position to clinch the tri series title.
USA won the toss and decided to bat first. A brilliant 52 on debut from Saiteja Reddy Mukkamalla and some hits from Harmeet Singh and the lower middle order helped them to notch 168/6 in their 20 overs.
Canada kept losing wickets at regular intervals, their score was 31/3 at one stage with Nosthush Kenjige (2/22) removing Aaron Johnson and Nicholas Kirton cheaply. Dilpreet Bajwa was the lone warrior scoring 56 in 41 balls.
Shreyas Movva scored 37 in 30 deliveries with Dillon Heyliger hitting 20 in 11 balls with 2 maximums. The combined effort of the American bowling attack meant that Canada had to chase 30 runs in the final over to go across the line.
Aaron Jones bowled a brilliant spell of 2/8, Shadley van Schalkwyk also claiming a couple of wickets in his spell. Harmeet Singh was excellent with 0/20 in his 4 overs.
