Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Adam Lyth (2) and Dawid Malan (14) failed to make an impact with the bat for Vikings, departing inside the powerplay. However, Joe Root (43) and Shan Masood (61) put the batting back on track and kept the scoreboard ticking at a decent pace. The duo forged 100+ runs for the third wicket, with Root falling 7 runs short of his fifty.
Yorkshire lost a flurry of wickets at the cue end of the innings, but a handy knock from Jordan Thompson (22) has helped the Vikings cross the 170-run mark.
Saqib Mahmood shone with the ball for Lancashire, grabbing three wickets. Chris Green and Jack Blatherwick chipped in with a couple of wickets for the Lightning.
In pursuit of 173 runs, Lancashire lost Luke Wells (7) and Josh Bohannon (2) cheaply. Keaton Jennings played a barrage of strokes to keep the run rate in check but failed to convert it into a big score, falling just 4 runs short of his fifty.
