So, that's a wrap on this North Group clash between Northamptonshire and Worcestershire with the home team coming out on top by 6 runs. Plenty more Blast games coming your way in the coming days. Switch tabs to catch the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup action as it continues to roll on. Cricket continues to unravel 24x7 in our network. Stick around to our network.

For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Gourav Samal alongside scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Saif Zaib (Player of the Match): "It felt great out there. Wanted to something for the team and nice to contribute for the team with bat and ball. One of those days where everything went right for me and glad that the team won. It got close in the end, but I was happy that we were able to cross the line in the end. No special plans, stick to basics and back myself fully. Self confidence is important. Thank You."

David Willey (Northamptonshire Captain): "It was a close game than we thought. Rafi pulled it off and told him to keep it simple and he bowled well out there. Yes, he is a quality cricketer and we did well in the end. We got the impetus at half time and haven't played our best. But glad we did well and got the points. Saif Zaid was good today and he was the difference for us. He stuck to basics. I think we are doing well in the table. Not at our best, but glad to get the two points in the end."
Brett D'Oliveira (Worcestershire Rapids Captain): That was close match. Yes we lost some key wickets in the middle which kept us away from the win. We bowled well and restricted them to a chaseable total. If we wouldn't have lost the key wicket wicket, then we could have chased it down. Looking forward to the next game. We will give our best to come out as winner.
2:24 PM IST, 9:54 PM Local Time: What a terrific game we have had here at County Ground in Northampton. The match swung from one team to another and in the end, Northamptonshire held their nerve to win the game by 6 runs in this North Group fixture. Worcestershire had their moments but it was a bridge too far for them.

Chasing 170 for the win on a tricky surface, Worcestershire lost their skipper Brett D'Oliveira early. Matthew Waite scored 12. Ed Pollock scored 14 off 10 balls. Adam Hose scored 30 off 21 balls. Ethan Brookes scored 24 off 15 balls. Nathan Smith scored 11 off 8 balls. Gareth Roderick almost won the game for them with his 39 off 22 balls. 10 extras given by the fielding side as Worcestershire ended with 163/9 in 20 overs falling 6 runs short.

For Northamptonshire bowling point of view, Saif Zaib was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/20 in 4 overs. A couple of wickets for Freddie Heldreich. A wicket apiece for Ben Sanderson, David Willey, Ravi Bopara, and Raphael Weatherall who bowled a crucial last over and the only over that he bowled today where he had to defend 11 runs and did it well.

Earlier in the game, Northamptonshire won the toss and elected to bat first. Ricardo Vasconcelos scored 28 and Matthew Breetzke scored 26 off 17 balls at the top of the order. Ravi Bopara scored 18 off 20 balls. Sikandar Raza scored an important 42* off 31 balls but the star of the show with the bat was once again Saif Zaib as he scored an unbeaten 44* off 21 balls. 8 extras given by the fielding side as the hosts ended with 169/4 in 20 overs.

For Worcestershire, Shoaib Bashir got a couple of wickets to his name but went for 38 runs in his 4 overs. A wicket apiece for Adam Finch and Hayden Walsh. The rest went wicketless and went the distance as well.

So, Northamptonshire beats Worcestershire by 6 runs in this North Group clash. Stay tuned for the presentations.

19.6 R Weatherall to S Bashir
0 That's it!!! Raphael Weatherall does it for Northamptonshire Steelbacks. Only a maximum could have changed the equation but the bowler kept his nerves under control and delivery at the right moment.
Fuller length delivery onto the leg, almost a yorker. Shoaib Bashir looks to flick but gets beaten on the inside edge. Keeper grabs it safely and a sigh of relief for
Raphael Weatherall. Northamptonshire Steelbacks won the match by 6 runs.
Shoaib Bashir comes out to bat at 11.
Weatherall has done it and almost won the game now surely for his side.
19.5 R Weatherall to G Roderick
W WICKET!! Big moment in the game. Weatherall strikes. Pitched on length, outside off, angling towards middle and off, Roderick comes across and looks to sweep it towards leg. Gets beaten and ball goes on to hit the stumps.
A crucial dot ball. 7 needed off 2 balls.
19.4 R Weatherall to G Roderick
0 Slightly fuller length delivery outside off, Roderick shuffles across to glance it towards leg side but gets beaten on the outside edge.
7 needed off 3 balls.
19.3 R Weatherall to G Roderick
2 Two more runs. Fuller length delivery on off, Roderick gets an outside edge towards the right of the keeper. He does well to get his hand on it and stop it from going down to the fence.
9 needed off 4 balls.
