Milestone
That brings an end to our coverage of this game. Keep joining us for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is Ninaad Dixit, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay Bhide and Deepak Prakash and scorer Bishal Mandal. Until next time, cheers and good bye.
Nigar Sultana (Bangladesh Women Captain): "The way the girls bowled today was brilliant. We couldn't capitalize against Sri Lanka. We wanted to give our 100% and execute our game plans. We couldn't execute 100% but still happy.

Murshida is a very capable player and doing really well since few years for the team. I am so happy for her and Rumana is the most senior player. The way she handled in the middle was brilliant.

Wicketkeeper's fingers are not good all the time. Hurt a bit but it will be better in one or 2 days."
Rabeya Khan (Player of the Match): "I am doing the job for the team and everyone is doing well so I am happy. I was happy with the 2nd wicket I picked.

I tried to bowl full and maintained the wicket-to-wicket line to get the wicket."
Player of the Match: Rabeya Khan
Thipatcha Puttawong (Thailand Women Captain): "We are here with a very young side. All the girls are getting a good experience. We would have loved to get some partnerships going but we will learn from this.

Our side is very energetic. Even towards the end, we were not giving up and we will look to play good cricket in our final game."
10:02 PM IST, Local Time: Time for the post-match presentation.
9:55 PM IST, Local Time: That’s it. The Bangladesh Women keep themselves alive in the Women’s Asia Cup 2024. After losing their opening game against the Sri Lanka Women, they have bounced back to win the next and stay alive in the competition. They beat the Thailand Women convincingly by seven wickets with 15 balls to spare.

Chasing 97, Dilara Akter gave the Bangladesh Women a solid start. She played some good shots at the top of the order but Murshida Khatun at the other end really struggled to get going. The pair put 24 for the first wicket before a mix-up in the middle ended Dilara’s stay at the crease. She departed on 17. After her dismissal, Murshida stepped on the accelerator and played some outstanding strokes.

Ishma Tanjim had walked out to bat at number three and she supported Murshida nicely. Both stitched a 50-run between them. Thai skipper Thipatcha Puttawong cleaned up Tanjim on 16 to break the 60-run stand. Murshida brought up her fifty off 54 balls but fell on the very next ball. Ritu Moni and Rumana Ahmed remained unbeaten on nine and five respectively to take Bangladesh Women across the line in the 18th over. Puttawong and Phannita Maya picked up two wickets each but there weren't enough runs on the board to defend.

After electing to bat first, the Thailand Women got off to a steady start. Nattaya Boochatham and Aphisara Suwanchonrathi opened for them. Boochatham looked good at the crease but Suwanchonrathi really struggled to get going and eventually fell on 20-ball six. Boochatham was going strong from one end but lacked support as the middle-order batters faltered and registered single-digit scores.

The Thai opener scored 41-ball 40 before getting cleaned up in the 17th over. Suleeporn Laomi looked good for her 17. Rosenan Kanoh remained unbeaten on 13 as Thailand Women finished their innings on 96/9. Rabeya Khan was the standout bowler for Bangladesh Women as she registered figures of 4/14 in her four overs. Debutant Sabikun Nahar Jasmin and Ritu Moni also chipped in with two scalps each. The batters then stepped up and chased down the total with seven wickets in hand.

Stick around for the post-match presentation.
17.3 P Maya to R Moni
4 FOUR RUNS! That's it from the game, Bangladesh wrap things up with a boundary. Full and just outside off. Whips it getting on the front foot. Smashes off the middle of the bat launching the ball up and over mid on. One bounce, four and a 7-wicket win for Bangladesh!
17.2 P Maya to R Moni
0 Short and outside the off stump, another firm punch in the covers finds the fielder.
17.1 P Maya to R Moni
0 Short of a length swinging further away outside off. Pushed on the bounce to cover.
Scores level. Bangladesh Women required just one run from 18 balls.
