Player Bio

The most experienced all-rounder in the current Bangladesh Women’s squad, Rumana Ahmed is a mysterious leg-break bowler who has represented Bangladesh in over 100 international fixtures.

Rumana is the current vice-captain of the Bangladesh women’s team who started her international journey in 2011. Debuting alongside the current skipper Salma Khatun, she played her first ODI against Ireland on November 26th, 2011.

The Khulna-born allrounder is known as a record-breaking batswoman and in her long nine years of international cricket, she has proved it multiple times. The seasoned campaigner for Bangladesh currently holds the joint highest ODI score for Bangladesh Women of 75 alongside her captain, Salma Khatun. She is also the current leading runscorer for Bangladesh Women in ODI’s with 827 runs since her debut in 2011.

With the ball in hand, the curious leggie is just as capable and sits joint top as the leading wicket-taker for Bangladesh women’s team with 42 wickets in ODI. In September 2016, she became the first Bangladesh Women's player to take an international hat trick, against Ireland, coming out of the match with figures of 3-20.

Backing her bowling form, Rumana became the leading wicket-taker with 10 wickets in 5 matches for the Tigresses in the 2018 World T20 Qualifiers which saw her included in the Hobart Hurricanes squad alongside some of the best players in the 2019 Women’s Big Bash League(WBBL).
