That's it from our coverage of another high scoring electric encounter in the Indian Premier League. Goodbye from the commentary team of Deepak Prakash, Sidharth Gulati, Akshaya Krishna Polya and Ninaad Dixit and the scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Shubman Gill (Player of the Match & Gujarat Titans Captain): "Just a cramp nothing else. When you have a big crowd behind you batting becomes easier. The freeness of batting. Didn't have any target in mind. We were maxmizing every opportunity we had in front of us.

We have a good camaraderie, we run twos, we hit the gaps and run between wickets well. We have a good understanding, batted together last year as well.

In terms of numbers it definitely is the best opening partnership for GT. Mohit bhai has done this for us in the past couple of years. He has done tremendously well for us. His bowling was a revelation for us last year. 2 or 3 bad games happens to every player. We have last couple of games remaining and we will be able to turn this around.

250 was there for us to be taking. We were 10-15 runs short. I'd say in the last 2-3 overs they bowled well also. We were short in terms of the net run rate going forward."

Rashid Khan (Gujarat Titans): "Absolutely amazing. You love to see those two Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan bat, the best innings I have seen. So happy to be watching it from the pavilion."

"Happy to get couple of wickets after a couple of wicketless games. I got a back issue, got hit on my shoulder and was struggling with it in the last game."

"Bowled to him (Dhoni) in the past as well, whenever he comes to bat, there is enormous support for him. So happy to play with him."
Ruturaj Gaikwad (Chennai Super Kings Captain): "Just a little bit not up to the mark with the fielding, and just, I feel execution-wise, we were still good. They played some extraordinary shots and put pressure right from the first over. And I think when two, you know, two batters who are exceptional all around the field, you cannot really control them. So I think we couldn't get a wicket. That's the reason I feel they just kept batting and played some good cricketing shots.

Yeah, it's real quick, actually. Catching a flight tomorrow. Didn't really have time to think, you know, just have to get up there for the day game. It will be tough playing in Chennai for a day game, especially against such a strong side. They're playing really well. But I feel to stay in the tournament, we need to turn up really well there."
11:30 PM: The momentum you create at the start commands the whole game. This proved right in case of the Gujarat Titans as they hang at the slightest edge in the Indian Premier League with a thumping 35 run win over Chennai Super Kings at home. Ruturaj Gaikwad broke his toss losing streak and elected to bowl first, his counterpart Shubman Gill was happy losing the toss and confident with the conditions.

Both the GT openers Gill and Sai Sudharsan hit centuries adding 210 runs for the first wicket, equaling the record opening stand in the league. Thanks to the knocks, GT finished their innings at a strong 231/3 with Tushar Deshpande (2/33) the only wicket taker for CSK.

Chennai lost the plot early in the chase with Rachin Ravindra being run out in the first over itself and then Sandeep Warrier alongside Umesh Yadav enjoyed the powerplay with a wicket apiece. GT lost Ajinkya Rahane and skipper Gaikwad next in the powerplay but half centuries from Daryl Mitchell (63 off 34) and Moeen Ali (56 off 36) kept CSK in the hunt.

Mohit Sharma arrived in the 13th over and removed Mitchell and then in a brilliant display of fast bowling got 2 more key wickets in form of Moeen Ali and Shivam Dube (21 off 13). Ravindra Jadeja had 18 to contribute in 10 balls and by the time MS Dhoni arrived, the game was all but over.

CSK needed 67 off 20 when Dhoni arrived but containing Rashid Khan for a couple of overs at the death proved effective for GT stand-in skipper Rahul Tewatia as he removed Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner in the 18th over to thump all CSK's chances.

Dhoni however didn't fail to entertain the crowd with an unbeaten 26 off 11 deliveries hitting 1 four and 3 sixes. Mohit and Rashid the bowlers to take the punishment in the final 2 overs but the duo finished as the pick of the bowling as well.

Mohit picked up 3/31 in his 4, Rashid ended up with 2/38 with Umesh and Warrier sharing the early couple of wickets amongst them. CSK remain in the top 4 with 12 points in the ladder with the Titans at number 8, a thin chance still alive for GT to get in the top 4 if they win their remainder games and hope other results go their way.

More coming up from our end as we bring all the post match coverage with the presentations. Hang around.
