Oval Invincibles Women won the toss and elected to bowl first, things looked to be on the up as they removed both Superchargers openers for single digits. However, Phoebe Litchfield and Annabel Sutherland turned things around for them. Sutherland in particular smashed a crucial and unbeaten 63 runs off 40 balls to take her team's total to 146/4 at the end of their 100 balls.
Come the chase, Northern Superchargers put immediate pressure on Oval Invincibles by picking up 5 wickets on the trot and leave Oval reeling at 23/5 after 22 balls. Schofield and Wellington gave them little hope as they were the only two batters to cross the 20 run-mark.
Both of them could not capitalize on their starts as first Schofield lost her wicket to Wareham before Annabel Sutherland was brought back into the attack to clean up the remaining 4 wickets without conceding a single run. All 4 batters saw the ball go past their blade and crash into the stumps!
Annabel Sutherland ended the game with an unbeaten 63 runs in 40 balls and impeccable bowling figures of 4/11 in 16 balls! A wonderful performance to single handedly beat the table toppers!
