Milestone
Time for us to conclude our coverage from the Men's Hundred 2024 game between Northern Superchargers and London Spirit. For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Pritam Dey and our scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Good night.
Adil Rashid (Hero of the Match): "Yeah it is an unfortunate way to end the game but we will take it. Yeah definitely we are confident, we have a really good squad and the players are in form. We have to wait and see how the two matches go and then we will see whether the luck is on our side or not.

Yeah I think we bowled really well as a unit. The seamers got us to a really good position and then it made work easier for me. Yeah I have enjoyed playing with Harry and he has given me a lot of freedom to bowl to my strengths every game."

01:22 IST and 20:52 Local Time | As it continued pelting down, the umpires have decided to call the game off. As Northern Superchargers were ahead by 21 runs in the DLS method, they snatch the crucial two points.

London Spirit were asked to bat first after losing the toss and Michael-Kyle Pepper failed to bat at his best. He departed for 3 and skipper Dan Lawrence got out for a mere 2 runs. But Keaton Jennings kept scoring boundaries in the powerplay and he scored 30 runs off 12 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

In the middle order, Matthew Critchley, Shimron Hetmyer and Andre Russell failed and Spirit were struggling at 62 for 6. At this stage, the senior pro Ravi Bopara and Liam Dawson carried the innings forward with their watchful stay. Together they added 49 runs to the team total. Bopara got out for 31 off 29 balls with 3 fours. Dawson stayed unbeaten till the end scoring 27 off 19 balls with 2 fours and a maximum.

Adil Usman Rashid was the star of the show picking up 3 wickets for just 16 runs. He got the necessary second fiddle from Mitchell Santner in the middle overs, who finished with 14/0. Matthew Potts and Reece Topley took a couple of wickets.

Coming to chase the run, Matthew Short was watchful in the first set bowled by Dan Worrall. But he went berserk at Richard Gleeson in the second set and hit him for boundaries in that set. Graham Clark joined him in the attack and he hit two maximums to welcome Olly Stone. The pacers were looking completely clueless in front of the Superchargers' openers and then Lawrence decided to bring the spinners.

Matthew Critchley removed Graham Clark but not before he scored a blazing 28 from 13 balls with 2 fours and as many as maximums. Spinners made the game slow for the batters.

When the score was 64 for 1 for Superchargers and they needed 48 for victory from 56 balls, it started to rain heavily. The intensity was huge and the umpires decided to call the game off.
