That’s all we have for you from this encounter between Manchester Originals and Welsh Fire

For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Anirudh Modi who, along with scorer/analysts Paras Yadav brought all the actions of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
David Willey (Match Hero): "We wanted to start the tournament well and talked about doing well and yes we got a nice start. These balls have been a little inconsistent in practice, some have and some have not and I think a left armer bringing it back in is always dangerous.

We all want to do our strengths well but the communicate is exceptional between us, credit to the support staff for doing that. Last year was great fun, probably my most enjoyable month and enjoying on and off the field is what makes us play well.

Little is one of those guys you can plug in and he will perform, a good backup to Haris Rauf. It's great to contribute to the team's win."

Time for the Post Match Presentations.

01:15 IST & 8:45 PM Local Time | A comprehensive performance by the Welsh Fire Men’s team as they defeated Manchester Originals at their own den by 8 wickets.

Earlier in the day, Phil Salt’s led side were put into bat by Tom Abell in an overcast condition at Manchester. The Originals batters got off to a dreadful start with the bat as they lost 3 wickets for just 4 runs inside 15 balls.

The Welsh Fire seamers were on top of their game as capitalized the conditions too its fullest. David Willey was the pick of the bowlers with figures off 3/14. The 8th Wicket partnership between Jamie Overton and Scott Currie somehow managed to get them cross the 80 run mark. Manchester Originals were bundled out for 86 which ended up being the 3rd lowest total in the history of The Hundred League for Men’s.

In reply, both the Welsh Fire openers got off to a flying start with the bat as they made their intentions clear to finish off this game as quickly as they can in order to boost their NRR. 18 runs each for both the Welsh Fire openers.

Joe Clarke scored an unbeaten 33* off 24 balls along with his Skipper Tom Abell who finished things off for the Welsh Fire with 43 balls to spare.

A happy day overall for Welsh Fire side as both the Women's as well as the Men's came out victorious tonight against the Manchester Originals.
