So that marks the end of our coverage from the exciting encounter between Sylhet Strikers and Durdanto Dhaka. For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on the behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and our scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi. Stay tuned for the second match of today's BPL double header and many more matches that are going on currently.
Mohammad Mithun (Sylhet Strikers)- "As a team, we tried to back our winning habit. We lose some matches but our confidence never went down. Ariful played a big role. Samit and myself, tried to carry the innings. We had a plan that if we can post 135-140, it will be enough.

When you have 140 runs to defend, you know you have to bowl well. In the first three matches we lost for fielding but we improved on that. We could've won those games but yes, this happens in cricket."
Richard Ngarava (Player of the Match)- "We always discuss in the dressing room with the coach to bowl in the perfect lines. We just did that. We practice all the deliveries and eliver as per the instincts. Credit to my teammates for this win and I hope as a team we can carry this momentum on."
Player of the Match- Richard Ngarava
Mosaddek Hossain (Durdanto Dhaka Captain)- "143 was obviously chase able and I think we didn't do well with the bat. In the first hour, bowlers did well for us and after that, our fielding became sloppy. I think we lost the momentum in the middle. In this type of tournaments, finding the momentum is a big thing. Taskin and Shoriful were terrific for us today but our batting did cost us."
17:03 IST and 17:33 Local Time | Finally, Sylhet Strikers have managed to break the five-match losing streak. They have comprehensively won it by 15 runs and have secured valuable 2 points against Durdanto Dhaka.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Sylhet Strikers got off to a shaky start as they lost Shamsur Rahman and Zakir Hasan for a golden duck and Najmul Hossain Shanto for a mere 3 runs off 12 balls inside the powerplay, with all three falling prey to left-arm quick Shoriful Islam.

Mohammad Mithun and Samit Patel started the rescue mission, and the pair played carefully and kept the scoreboard ticking at a decent pace. The duo added 50+ runs for the fourth wicket but failed to carry the momentum as Samit departed for run-a-ball 32 runs. On the other hand, Mithun paired up with Benny Howell and notched up his fifty, taking his side out of a precarious situation.

Howell contributed 11 runs off 13 balls, while Ariful Haque played a cameo of 21 runs off just 9 balls. On the other hand, Mithun contributed with 59 runs off 46 balls, helping his side post a respectable 142/8 in 20 overs.

Shoriful Islam shone with the ball for Dhaka, claiming four wickets. Arafat Sunny chipped in with a couple of wickets, while Taskin Ahmed and Usman Qadir celebrated a solitary wicket.

In pursuit of 142 runs, Durdanto Dhaka lost Saim Ayub and Mohammad Naim for 13 and 2 runs, respectively. Saif Hassan and Alex Ross started building the partnership, but their progress abruptly halted when Saif got run out for 17 runs and Ross followed him in the very next over after contributing 20 runs off 18 balls. Irfan Sukkur and Mosaddek Hossain failed to make an impact with the bat and departed cheaply, leaving their side in deep waters.

Durdanto Dhaka kept losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually finished on 127 for 9. Thanks to some late blows from Taskin Ahmed who remained unbeaten on 27 off 11 balls. Richard Ngarava was the star of the bowling with 4 for 30. They lost the match by a margin of 15 runs
