Milestone
That brings an end to our coverage for this game. Do switch tabs as the game between Team Abu Dhabi and the New York Strikers isn’t far away. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Arijit Kundu and scorer Ashok Dayma. Bye bye.
Nicholas Pooran (Deccan Gladiators Captain): “Brilliant. The way we have won, it has been brilliant. Just keeping things simple and keeping the calm under pressure. Great to have the momentum before heading into the playoffs.

I think TKC had something brilliant for breakfast. He has been magnificent. Showing great consistency which is not easy in T10 cricket. But glad that he is in our team and so happy for him.

Nuwan got the opportunity and you saw his potential. Every time we call him, he makes things happen. This tournament is going to do some wonderful things for him and a lot of eyes will be on him. I’m happy that he is performing and the sky is the limit for him.”
Nuwan Thushara (Player of the Match): "The ball was swinging a bit and that became crucial to get his skillset right.

I back my skill. Though its a very short format, I try to back my skills. I am thrilled to work under the coaches and their guidance, that includes coach Mushtaq."

Time for the presentation...
9:06 PM IST, 7:36 PM Local Time: That’s it. The Deccan Gladiators walk past the Northern Warriors unscathed. They win the game by nine wickets and make it three wins in a row to go to the top of the points table. The bowlers did a decent job to restrict the Warriors to 100 before Tom Kohler-Cadmore went berserk. He went absolutely berserk and remained unbeaten on 69 off just 19 balls to help the Gladiators chase down the total in just 6.1 overs. The Warriors, on the other hand, suffer their fourth loss of the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2023 and they really didn't show up tonight.

Chasing 101, Tom Kohler-Cadmore made his intentions clear as he smashed the first ball for a six. He hit four maximums and scored 26 in the very first over against Angelo Mathews. Nicholas Pooran at the other end got off to a watchful start and scored a run-a-ball seven before departing in the third over. There was no stopping TKC though as he played some astonishing strokes.

TKC hit boundaries for fun and never allowed the Warriors to get in the contest. He brought up his fifty off 13 balls, second fastest in Abu Dhabi T10 League’s history and fastest in this edition. Andre Fletcher scored a nine-ball 18 before falling in the sixth over. Andre Russell hit a six on the first ball of the seventh over to take the Gladiators across the line with nine wickets in hand. Kohler-Cadmore's unbeaten 19-ball 69 knock comprised four boundaries and eight maximums.

After electing to bowl first, the Gladiators had a superb start. Nuwan Thushara bowled the second over and cleaned up Kennar Lewis (7) and Hazratullah Zazai (3) in the space of four balls. Joshua Cobb (1) also was run out in the same over as the Warriors were reduced to 12/3. Jimmy Neesham along with his skipper Angelo Mathews led the recovery work. Neesham and Mathews kept the Gladiators at bay in the middle phase. Both put 50 between them for the fourth wicket before Mathews fell on 29 off 18 balls.

Neesham played a good knock of 31 off 23 balls before departing in the last over. Rahul Chopra’s handy cameo of 14* off seven balls helped the Warriors get to 100 at the end of their 10 overs. The Gladiators picked up six wickets in total. Nuwan Thushara was sensational with the ball for them and picked up four wickets, conceding only 12 runs in his two overs. The target wasn't enough as TKC almost single-handedly took the Gladiators across the line with 3.5 overs to spare.

6.1 J Neesham to A Russell
6 This one might bump into the Burj Khalifa!!! How big is that? Fuller than a length outside the off from the bowler. Russell had the time to pick the length and smashes it over the deep mid wicket region for a six. 11th six of the innings and the Gladiators leapfrog to take the position at the top of the table.

6 BIGGIEEEE!! There's no stopping of sixes when TKC is here. Full and tossed up at the leg stump line. TKC walked a tad down, watched the ball till the end and slogged it over long on for half-a-dozen. Just three needed to win now.
5.5 T Shamsi to T Kohler-Cadmore
0 Full, leg break at the leg stump. TKC looks to sweep and gets some glove to short fine leg.
5.4 T Shamsi to T Kohler-Cadmore
2 Outside edge and short third man fielder chases it to the deep and allows a couple. Full and outside the off. TKC went for the pummel but failed to middle it.
