So, that's it for this game, everyone. We hope you enjoyed this live coverage. Do switch tabs and follow the second game of the day between Morrisville Samp Army and Team Abu Dhabi which gets underway in under 20 minutes from now. Akshay and Ashok will take you through it but for now, this is Navjeevan signing off.
Kieron Pollard (New York Strikers Captain): "Of course, the bowlers bowled well but from the batting perspective that's not how we are suppose to chase 88. In these sorts of tournaments, we were looking to boost the net run rate but lost wickets in the process it happens but again like I said that's not how we are suppose to chase 88. I will line up everyone from Gurbaz to every batter, sit down with all, and chat about what went wrong."
Sunil Narine (Player of the Match): "Yeah. It is pretty difficult. But it's about seeing what works on the wicket. Mixing up the pace and bowl it fuller as the batters can't get underneath it. You have to start the over good. If you start good, you help yourselves and the team. I think it will get better under lights. It may deviate a bit but certainly will become good for batting."

18:55 IST, 17:25 Local Time: That turned out to be a low-scoring thriller in the end. The Strikers manage to hold onto their nerve and get across the line eventually. The Warriors did well to drag the game this deep.

After being put into bat today, the Warriors lost Lewis early and had a slow start. But the Warriors batters never got going throughout their innings. Zazai struggled for his 17, while Munro (44*) scored half the runs for the Warriors. He batted till the end and found a few boundaries to help the Warriors post 88 runs on the board.

Bowling first, the Strikers executed their plans perfectly. They got wickets at the right time but kept the squeeze on throughout and contained the Warriors to just 88 runs. Hosein, Jawadullah and Scrimshaw got a wicket each for the Strikers.

Coming in to chase a target of 89 runs. The Strikers were provided with a decent start by Waseem (23) who found the ropes early. Gurbaz (22) struggled to get going and lost his wicket in the second half of this run-chase.

It looked like the Strikers would stroll across to a straightforward win. However, a couple of wickets fell in the floating powerplay which started a chain reaction resulting in wickets tumbling for the Strikers. Despite the damage, the Strikers were able to stumble across the line with five balls to spare.

Defending their total, the Warriors couldn't get an early wicket. Shamsi got rid of both the openers a bit late. However, Mithun got two wickets bowling the floating powerplay and gave the Warriors a bit of hope. Mathews bowling the following over got a couple of wickets too. It looked like the Warriors could indeed pull off a miraculous win. However, it wasn't meant to be.

With this win, the Strikers move up to the top of the table dislodging the ball Warriors who slide down to second.
THAT DOES IT FOR THE STRIKERS!
9.1 Z Rahman to A Hosein
6 SIXXX!!!! Akeal Hosein finishes things in style. Rahman with a slower delivery on the shorter side around off, Hosein stays deep in his crease and pulls it powerfully over the mid wicket fence for a biggie. The fielder out on the boundary is a mere spectator. With this, the New York Strikers beat the Northern Warriors by three wickets with five balls to spare.
Ziaur Rahman comes on to bowl the final over. He needs to bowl a magical over here.
A lucky boundary towards the end puts the Strikers in the driver's seat to win this game now. Just three runs are needed now from the final over.

The ball runs away past the short third man fielder for a boundary. The fielder from inside the circle runs after it but fails to stop it. Leg byes signaled by the umpire.
8.5 J Neesham to A Hosein
