That's all from this contest, folks! Thank you for staying with us throughout the contest. For now, this is Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. CHEERS!
Tim David (Player of the Match): "Happy to contribute to the team. The guys set the foundation, and I followed through. It's all about figuring out what strategy suits you in the game, taking a chance, and seeing how it goes."
Player of the Match: Tim David
Nicholas Pooran (MI Emirates Captain): "It's nice to be on the right side tonight. Yeah, as I said earlier, we were ready for the challenge. We know we had to tune our bodies to recover as fast as possible for today's game, but I'm really happy that the guys responded to the challenge we started.

We communicated really well. It was a challenging condition, the ball swung a lot. We felt like in Abu Dhabi if we can get ourselves to that last 10 overs with wickets in hand, then we have a chance of making up and scoring a lot in the back end.

No, I think I'm going to keep the wickets. I felt like I had to talk to the bowlers, but in saying that if I'm talking to the bowlers, I'm fielding at cover, so I'm basically wasting a fielding position, and Fletcher is quick, so we're going to utilize him in the outfield. Bravo and Bolty are there, and they are going to use the experience to talk to the bowlers as well.'
James Vince (Gulf Giants Captain): "We never quite got ahead in the game. I think in phases we did enough to be level, but with a few overs here and there, if they've gone the other way, I think we could have driven that game home.

I think we'll have a quick debrief and ahead of the next game, see where we can improve. But conditions here are completely different from what we came up with in our first game. So we've also got to look forward and make sure we're prepared for what's ahead."

Time for the post-match presentation...
12:04 AM IST (Monday), 10:34 PM Local Time: A stupendous bowling effort by Fazalhaq Farooqi (4/25) turned the tide of the game in favor of MI Emirates, helping his side win by 18 runs and register their first win of the season.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, MI Emirates lost Will Smeed for a mere one run. Muhammad Waseem took his time to settle on the crease, and shifted gears in the last over of the powerplay, but failed to carry the momentum and departed for 19 runs off 18 balls. The middle-order partnership between Andre Fletcher and Nicholas Pooran faced challenges in scoring quickly, with Fletcher departing for 28 runs off 38 balls.

Ambati Rayudu joined Pooran, and they accelerated the scoring rate, with Pooran reaching his fifty. However, their progress was halted in the 18th over as Jordan dismissed both Rayudu (25 off 16) and Pooran (51 off 28). Tim David played a crucial knock of 41* runs off 15 balls in the slog overs, helping MI Emirates reach a competitive total of 179/5 in 20 overs.

Chris Jordan took two wickets for Gulf Giants but conceded 48 runs in his 4 overs, while Dominic Drakes, Jamie Overton, and Mujeeb claimed a wicket each.

In pursuit of 179 runs, Gulf Giants got off to a decent start as Jamie Smith and James Vince played with an aggressive approach from the word go, setting the tone for the Giants. However, Fazalhaq Farooqi trapped Smith (17) and super-sub player Jordan Cox (0) on consecutive deliveries, putting the Giants in a spot of bother.

James Vince notched up his half-century but failed to convert it into a big score, departing for 52 runs off 43 balls. Jamie Overton almost turned the tide of the game by playing a blistering knock of 18-ball 41 runs. However, Farooqi bowled a superb penultimate over, taking two wickets and executing a run-out in his follow-through of Hetmyer (15), putting Gulf Giants in deep waters.

Gulf Giants lost a flurry of wickets in the last two overs and were restricted to 161/9, falling 18 runs short of the target.

Fazalhaq Farooqi shone with the ball and bowled a match-winning spell for his side, claiming 4 wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs. Trent Boult chipped in with a couple of wickets, while Dwayne Bravo and Waqar Salamkheil contributed a solitary wicket.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentation.....

1 Much full and on the stumps. Drakes whacks it to long-on where Tim David keeps it to just one run. MI Emirates win by 18 runs to register their first win of the season.
19.5 T Boult to Khan
1 Length delivery outside off. Aayan cuts it to deep backward point for a single.
Aayan Afzal Khan is the last man in for GG.
19.4 T Boult to Rahman
W WICKET! CAUGHT! Short of a length delivery banged into the pitch. Mujeeb swots across the line of the ball but gets his eyes off the ball in the process. He mistimes it and the ball flies towards deep backward square leg, who runs in and takes it safely.
