08.45 AM IST, 11.15 AM Local Time: And that concludes our coverage as well. India Women's comfortable victory in this semifinal propels them into the finals.

I hope you enjoyed our coverage. For now, this is Saipavan Janaki signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Akshay Bhide, and scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. CHEERS!

08.38 AM IST, 11.08 AM Local Time | Saipavan: India Women displayed exceptional prowess, clinching an 8-wicket victory over Bangladesh Women in the semifinals with strong performances in both bowling and batting. Their triumph propels them to the finals, highlighting their potential as a formidable team in women's cricket.

Earlier, Bangladesh Women won the toss and opted to bat first. They endured a disastrous start in their match against India Women. On the very first ball, Shathi Rani was dismissed, and Pooja Vastrakar continued her dominance, claiming another wicket in the opening over as Shamima Sultana departed for a golden duck. Titas Sadhu bowled brilliantly from the other end, securing her maiden T20I wicket by dismissing Shorna Akter.

Their captain, Nigar Sultana, contributed 12 off 17 balls before being run out while attempting a risky single. Fahima Khatun also suffered a run-out without scoring runs, leaving them at 25/6 after 8 overs. Amanjot Kaur joined the wicket-taking spree, dismissing Rabeya Khan for three with a pinpoint yorker. Vastrakar returned to the attack and secured her fourth wicket on the final ball of her spell. India Women efficiently wrapped up Bangladesh Women's innings, restricting them to just 51 runs in 17.5 overs.

Pooja Vastrakar starred as the bowler of the match, claiming four wickets for only 17 runs in her four overs, while Sadhu, Kaur, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, and Devika Vaidya each contributed with a wicket, completing an outstanding bowling performance.

Chasing a modest target of 52 runs, India Women's opening pair, Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma, provided a strong start with 19 runs on the board. Mandhana initiated the chase with a boundary but was unfortunately dismissed for 7 runs. Jemimah Rodrigues joined Verma, and together, they added 21 runs for the second wicket before Verma departed for 17 runs in 21 deliveries.

Subsequently, Rodrigues and Kanika Ahuja managed the latter stages of the chase adeptly, forming an unbeaten partnership of 12 runs. Rodrigues displayed composure, ending the match undefeated at 20 runs off 15 balls, featuring 3 fours, while Ahuja remained not out with 1 run.

India Women comfortably crossed the victory line with 11.4 overs to spare, successfully chasing down the target of 52 runs in 8.2 overs, with 8 wickets in hand. It was a tough day for Bangladesh Women's bowlers, with Fahima Khatun and Marufa Akter picking up a wicket each.

8.2 S Akter to J Rodrigues
2 Two runs completed and India Women are into the final of the Women's Cricket Competition of the Asian Games 2023. This was a short delivery from Akter outside off, Rodrigues cuts it to the sweeper in the off side and scampers back for the second. With this, India Women beat Bangladesh Women comprehensively by eight wickets.
