So, that's it from this warm up fixture of the ICC World Cup 2023. Rain has had the final say in the proceedings in both the games today in Thiruvananthapuram and also in Guwahati. So, it was a frustrating day for all. Thank you for being with us as we sign off for the night. Stay tuned for more cricketing actions across the globe in our network across formats.

For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Deepak Prakash and Saipavan Janaki alongside scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
10:32 PM IST: So, rain has had the final say in the proceedings as this warm up fixture between Australia and Netherlands has been called off for the day. The match ends in a no result. We thought that we will get no play at all with the amount of rain we had. But credit to ground staff, that we got some action today as both teams warmed up a little. Australia will be disappointed that they could not get the win thanks to the rain.

Let's recap as to what transpired today. The game was reduced to 23 overs a side with the match getting underway at 7 PM IST. Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. Steven Smith led from the front and top scored with a breath-taking 55 off 42 balls at the top of the order. Alex Carey scored 28 off 25 balls batting at Number 3. Cameron Green scored 34 off 26 balls while Mitchell Starc scored an unbeaten 24* off 22 balls as Australia ended up with 166/7 in 23 overs. 11 extras were given by the fielding side.

Roelof van der Merwe was the pick of the bowlers for Netherlands with figures of 2/12 in 3 overs. Bas de Leede and Logan van Beek picked up a couple of wickets each and keeping things relatively tight. Shariz Ahmad picked up the other wicket that fell in the Australian innings.

Chasing 167 for the win in 23 overs. Netherlands were rocked early as Mitchell Starc picked up a hat-trick. Max O' Dowd, Wesley Barresi, and Bas de Leede were his victims as they registered golden ducks each. Vikramjit Singh fell cheaply as well. Colin Ackermann held the innings together and was unbeaten on 31* off 37 balls. Skipper Scott Edwards was dismissed for 14 off 10 balls. Logan van Beek was unbeaten on 9* off 9 balls with Ackermann when the weather gods opened up and abandoned the proceedings. 12 extras were given by Australia which included loads of wides. An area they need to work on going forward.

Mitchell Starc was the pick of the bowlers as he got back into the groove. He finished with 3/18 in 3 overs. A wicket apiece for Mitchell Marsh, Sean Abbott, and Marnus Labuschagne. All in all, a good day for the Australians despite the no result in the end.

So, the match has been abandoned as this ends in a no result.
10:31 PM IST: ABANDONED! It's pelting down here in Thiruvananthapuram and the match has been abandoned.
