Milestone
That's it from the coverage of this game and the T20I series dominated by Australia as they win the series 3-0 against New Zealand. We will be back with more cricketing actions from across the globe and across formats in our network. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentators AkshayaKrishna Polya, and Deepak Prakash alongside scorer/analyst Vishnu Verma. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS!
Matthew Wade, the stand-in Australian captain, receives the T20I Trophy, while Mitchell Marsh, the regular Aussie skipper, collects the iconic Chappell-Hadlee Trophy as they retain it with a 3-0 clean sweep over the hosts. The squad poses for the photographs!
Matthew Wade (Australia Captain): "Yes, our bowlers were unbelievable. They executed well and bowled great. That was unbelievable execution out there. Matthew Short had a great game with the bat. Yes, I have recovered from the catch. Yes, happy with how things went for us. Great to see the depth of the squad and that will help us in building a team for the World Cup. This ground is not easy to play in. Auckland is tough. But we have had two clinical displays out there and happy with the effort from the team. Thank You."
Mitchell Santner (New Zealand Captain): "Yeah, I think so. We knew that the rain was around the corner. They played well. Big three quicks in all three games and a bit of power with the bat. They are a quality side, they showed us the power the posses throughout the series. We showed some good character; we came back well with the ball. Had it been a full game, we would loved to restrict them around 180. We couldn't soak up the pressure with the bat. The dropped catches don't help either. The depth of the squad is good, we'll have few guys coming back in. Some good stuff to take from this series, some bad stuff as well. Thanks mate!"
Mitchell Marsh (POTS): "Great to contribute to the team. Always enjoy that and to win 3-0 here. Credit to the boys. The coaching stuff makes things easier for us and the atmosphere is great in the dressing room. Coming to New Zealand, it is a tough challenge and to do well here gives confidence. Some guys did well out there especially Spencer Johnson as he got a game out there. The boys are in good shape and looking good. Well, I am not the best golfer but David Warner was before he got injured and the others are doing quite well in the golf course. So, happy with the effort."
Player of the Series: Mitchell Marsh
Matthew Short (POTM): "I am most comfortable while playing shots. It was a strange game with rain around and stop-start for three and odd times. Played plenty of shots, though. It's such a strong squad, really grateful to play with these guys. Enjoyed batting, but I was nervous with the ball in the end. Hopefully, get more games but it's such a great bunch of guys."
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: MATTHEW SHORT
9:21 AM IST, 4:51 PM Local Time: A clinical bowling display by the Australians sees them win this rain affected game by 27 runs under the DLS method. They win the series 3-0 and inflict a whitewash on the hosts. Once the Aussies got in front, they never really gave New Zealand a sniff at all to win this game. New Zealand struggled their way to finish with 98/3 in 10 overs.

Let's recap you the game which was affected by rain multiple times as match was reduced to 10 overs a side eventually. Australia were put into bat first and could face 10.4 overs only. Australia lost Steven Smith early. Travis Head looked scratchy for his 33 off 30 balls. Matthew Short scored 27 off 11 balls while Glenn Maxwell scored a quickfire 20 off 9 balls. Josh Inglis was unbeaten on 14* off 8 balls while Tim David was unbeaten on 8* off 3 balls. Australia were 118/4 in 10.4 overs when rain intervened to end the first innings for good.

A wicket apiece for Adam Milne, Ben Sears, skipper Mitchell Santner and Josh Clarkson as all their bowlers struggled under tough bowling conditions with rain around.

When play once again resumed, New Zealand were set a target of 126 in 10 overs under the DLS method. Finn Allen and Will Young both got to double figures and then got out. Tim Seifert got out cheaply. Glenn Phillips tried his best for his 40* off 24 balls. Mark Chapman was unbeaten on 17* off 15 balls as New Zealand fell short of the target. They finished with 98/3 after 10 overs falling 27 runs short.

It was an unbelievable bowling performance from the Aussies as they gave nothing away. A wicket apiece for Adam Zampa, Spencer Johnson, and Matthew Short. The other two bowlers Starc and Ellis may have gone wicketless but gave nothing way. The execution was brilliant from the Aussie bowlers.

So, Australia wins by 27 runs under DLS method and complete the 3-0 whitewash over New Zealand. Stick around for the presentations.

9.6 M Short to M Chapman
4 FOURRRRR!!! A boundary to end the context! But that doesn't change the result by any means! Australia win the series 3-0 with a 27-run (dls) win in the third and final T20I! Fires a full ball following the batter backing away. Chapman can only manage an inside edge on the attempted slog and gets it past the keeper to his right for a boundary. Australia whitewash New Zealand and retain the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy!
9.5 M Short to M Chapman
2 Yorks Chapman up at the middle stump, 105 kmph, the batter makes room and squeezes it to deep extra cover for a couple of runs. They just jog across and complete a brace.
9.4 M Short to G Phillips
1 A low full toss, 104 kmph, quicker and at the leg stump, Phillips clears his front leg and pushes it to long-on for a single.
9.3 M Short to M Chapman
1 Fuller, off-break, wide outside off, 86.2 kmph, Chapman hacks it to long-on for a single.
9.2 M Short to G Phillips
1 Yorker length following the batter coming at Phillips, who smashes it to long-on for a single.
